I have an even spicier personal stance: If there isn't a clear Quran verse saying so, and an uncontradicted hadith supporting it, I ignore it and consider it apocrypha. Allah gave us the Quran, the greatest book, not in the Quran, not in my deen! I find most "haha gotcha muzzy" stuff to be extremely boring. Usually old news to even the most minimally educated and knowledgeable Muslim, and an exaggerated nothing that's been dealt with before.

Look, anyone who hears this argument has very likely already heard Muslim say stuff like Islam is the truth or Quran says the past books have been corrupted "they write it with their own hands and claim it's from Allah" paraphrasing but those involved have likely heard that exact verse from Muslims. I could go on, but the point is they(Muslims) already know that the Quran puts it's as the standard to judge with, meaning anything the Bible says can only be true if it agrees with the Quran. There is simply so many that Muslims already know as common knowledge that the argument can only be for the really ignorant ones and in reality for Christians to hear it and feel better even if it doesn't make sense.

There is no need to reject this particular narraration of the hadith. "i believe in you and the one that sent you" = talking specifically just about the verse of stoning thats in question and not the book at all. The prophet salALLAHu alayhi wassalams hand being on the book has no bearing on him affirming just the verse on stoning and nothing else. Another explanation: the prophet salALLAHu alayhi wassalam was affirming the torah the jews had at the time, but not in a way Christian apologists would accept. Similar to the book "Elements" by Euclid, which is known to contain interpolations from multiple authors, despite this fact, is still called Elements, and is still attributed to Euclid. So while not talking about the Tawrah given to Musa alayhiselam, its possible that the tawrah at the time of the propher salALLAHu alayhi wassalam still contained many truths in it, would still be nominally called "tawrah", and still could be said to "come from ALLAH" in the sense that it contains many truths about prior prophets and messengers, angels, elements of al asma wal sifat, etc. I have no problem with Farid rejecting the hadith due to valid ikhtilaf, but seems like at an apologetics level it would be much better to show that even the toughest position to defend on the Muslim side is completely defensible against this weak shubhat

Yes it was specifically refering to the Torah. But, again even if the report is correct. Still the prophet was referring to the original torah not the Old testiment they have now. And he specifically used it to Judge its people who themselves asked him to do judge their own people. And that law regaeding the adulterers is the same law in Islam. They tried to hide it in the Torah and the prophet found it therein. Ao he was simply referring to the law. And we have many reports that shows the Prophet got angry when Umar (RA) wrote from it.

@@samhangster you missed the point I didn't say that the prophet had the original tablets, if you read my first comment carefully, I said: *"the prophet was referring to the original torah not the Old testiment they have now."* Meaning, the original Torah that wss with Moses not the Old Testament they have now which existed even before the time of the prophet. This is why I said the prophet got angry when he saw Umar quoting in paper from it.

Ok, bring the same "EDITION" that existed in the hands of Abdul-Allah bin Sallam (a Jewish rabbi in Yathrib) 😁 I doubt its the same as what David Wood & his goonies believe in.. However the hadith can be understood by this verse: ﴿ قُولُوا آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالْأَسْبَاطِ وَمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَمَا أُوتِيَ النَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ﴾ [ البقرة: 136] Meaning regardless of what was placed infront of him, we believe in Moses as messenger & there was a message called Torah of which Allah descended unto him. Or that particular "text" in the page was a true untouched commandment.

Any text that is of the original Torah can be referred to as the Torah without impling all of it. We say the same for the Quran. I.e recite/listen to the Quran doesnt necessarily mean all of it, but can be part of it. Allah says He revealed the Quran in Ramadan, although only some ayah were revealed.

@FARID Read carefully QURAN 5 46, the INJEEL confirms the LAWs of the TAWRAT. I have NOT YET seen the INJEEL where ALLAH speaks to prophet ISA and gives guidance and LAWS. This is why the INJEEL was lost long ago during the events that happened after ISA. I suspect it can be found at the ROMAN VATICAN Archive vaults.

you have debunked absolutely nothing here farid. so I see what you want to get across here, but even sahih muslim 1699a shows mohammad using the Torah to judge jewish people.... if the Jewish scripture had been corrupted why would he have ever possibly came to the conclusion to judge by it? his actions speak far louder then his words, he didnt even need to say that he believes the Torah because he USED ONE at a time where it already says exactly what it says now, and then judged by it. Did he say "this book isnt as good because its a previous revelation that got changed"? no... nothing like that, instead he pointed at a law in it and followed through with it, which also shows that mohammad believed the OT laws enough to apply them! feel free to reply if you have a proper response to this Farid, im curious :D

@@amsakkejha3827 I don't take any hadith that isn't supported by Quran. Humans came up with Hadith compilations centuries after the Quran and Prophet. The Quran warns us about invented traditions, and how they were the doom of the Jews and then the Christians before us Surahs 3 and 9 contain verses about not degrading away the revelations of Allah with manmade contaminants for convenience. Surah 5 contains an account of Jesus scolding the people of his time for Shirk by ascribing divinity to him, the tradition that became Christianity. Most of the Sunnah are traditions from human cultures dressed up as Islam, no different from the Mitzvot of the Jews and the "Traditions" of the Christians. Pagan, invented, and constructed customs presented as religion. Like how Christmas is in the middle winter atop pagan Saturnalia and not when sheep would be pastured, and almost any current Jewish custom. There have been found fake and unreliably hadiths, thousands upon thousands of them. And then whose Sunnah? Nobody agrees what is Sunnah. Not from broad sect to sect, not even two among the Ulemma, not even believer to believer. Then there are Hadiths and Sunnahs that directly contradict each other, cannot be true. Then there are ones that contradict even the Quran, and therefore cannot be true. Therefore, it can be concluded Sunnah, if without scriptural basis from Quran, should be discarded for purity of doctrine. One of the biggest issues is the Sunni do classification by book per compiler rather than by hadith, so you will find abundant contradictory, insane, or impossible hadith in collections that are all supposed to be approved and calid. This is why I believe God over Man. And if you believe your basis is firm and irreproachable, then you have nothing to fear from analysis and questions. All yelling you can't question or analyze this or that or these does is indicate insecurity born of weakness. Our Quran invites questions and criticism, for it is strong. That scholars refuse to allow it for Sunnah shows weakness, and they know it's weak. The Quran says it best. Quran 6:114-6:117 [6:114] Shall I seek other than GOD as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed? Those who received the scripture recognize that it has been revealed from your Lord, truthfully. You shall not harbor any doubt. [6:115] The word of your Lord is complete in truth and justice. Nothing shall abrogate His words. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient. [6:117] Your Lord is fully aware of those who stray off His path, and He is fully aware of those who are guided. Allah>Nas.
