Hey y’all! Found you via a video The Serfs made based on your Comicsgate video. You’re very talented and I’m prolly gonna binge your content. It’s so rare to find good comics discourse and history. Anyway, you know, I’m beginning to think the grift runs even deeper on the comics end of things: They’re fake fans. They don’t engage in the content on good faith. Maybe this is obvious, but honestly I just thought they had no ability to analyze and interpret media from an objective viewpoint. XD Yes, I can be very naive.

The thing that I hate is that when captain marvel came out every anti-sjw grifter was saying, "Why don't we have a black widow movie? I wouldn't hate it if it was a black widow movie". 2 years later..... We got a black widow movie. And they're STILL malding.

Even DC has had incredibly left leaning politics. Superman took on the KKK, gun control, and even US imperialism, Green arrow took on the drug war and is to this day the most left leaning hero in comics, batman took on corrupt politicians and evil corporations, wonder woman was a giant feminist and was constantly taking on issues of women's rights, comic books have ALWAYS been extremely political. And these people just ignore all of that for money and so they can believe their stupid world views without them being challenged.

Honestly I really thought I was the only one who was dumb enough to make the attempt (not calling you dumb but me for wasting my time). It's quite sad, they regurgitate these same tired arguments and everytime I ask them "hey have you actually read the comic?" They do every single thing they can to deflect, it honestly makes me wanna make a video of my own because it seems like soooo many people are just brain dead idiots with little to no real world experience nor ability to think for themselves.

To be fair, there are some pretty lousy trends and bad writing occasionally rearing their heads in modern comics and there are egotistical self righteous comic writers in Marvel. Kate "All men must die" Leth was one such person and it's what led to me siding with Comicsgate. (Until they showed their true colors and then I dumped them) That said it's not nearly the problem on the level these people actually want to make it out to be.
@user-unos111 Жыл бұрын
They run away because they know these people don't want to learn anything and only pay attention to people who praise their pathetic ideology. Then sjw try to rationalize their views and present themselves as enlightened. Basically, they are like a new brand version of delusional religious fanatics. P.D.: Also, valiant statements considering in my experience sjws rather prefer to ban people who disagrees with their opinions and then insult you to boost their egos

There is another one that I think needs to be talked about; the whole "manga sells better because Japanese people don't force politics into their stories." Just remember, kiddies, when people say that, it's usually from people who don't know a damn thing about Japan, Japanese history, culture, customs, etc. There's plenty of manga with political themes in them, such as Akira, First President of Japan, or Deathnote. Anime and live-action movies such as Space Battleship Yamato, Japan's Longest Day, Japan Sinks, a good chunk of the Godzilla franchise (to name a few), are also examples of Japanese creators expressing a political, social, or philosophical viewpoints. Ya know, it's almost like these guys don't think deeper than "Yay big tiddy anime waifus."

Considering its themes I think it's relevant to mention My Hero Academia too. With its blend of both American and Japanese superhero motifs, it comments on modern Japanese society, disillusionment over established power structures, failure of state bodies to prepare for disasters, how the youth of tomorrow are being forced to carry the burdens and failures of their parents and forebearers etc. The addition of super powers to the mix makes for some awkward metaphors but it's also a show/manga for kids and teens so a little leeway is expected in these allegories. *spoilers* I wonder if there's anything behind the fact that the "symbol of peace" is a blonde haired, blue eyed ultra powerful "superman" type character whose costumes are all red white and blue, whose special attacks are are US state names with SMASH at the end of it, and that as his powers diminish, there is a growing threat of a "dark past" returning from the shadows to drag the country (Japan) back into a "might makes right" style fascist society. Hmm...

Funny story, I heard of the new Iron man comic was written by Christopher Cantwell (previously did the Dr. Doom mini series great stuff). Heard some angry right wing youtubers saying that Hellcat “hates white men amd toxic masculinity” from channels like Thinking Critical, Geeks and Gamers and the Quartering as usual. Decided to read the story to see what the fuss is all about and sure the scene was a bit distasteful because Stark just broke his entire body to save some scientist from a super villain but even though Hellcat was a bit insensitive and out of line she was speaking from a place of pain as half her face had scars and was hearing voices from supervillain Michael Korvac but of course they leave out that part in their reviews because the context went against the narrative. Honestly I’m digging this run because it’s not not dealing with Stark wanting to be more of a street level superhero while having a partner like Hellcat who has this buddy cop feel of two very different people working together for the common good to stop Michael Korvac whose trying to regain his old cosmic powers from Galactus ship which in my opinion it’s a really cool story and highly recommend it to check it out. In conclusion, I just find it hilarious they ignore a really good plot line for this current run of Iron man for “toxic masculinity, white man evil” rhetoric. Bunch of pussies (sry for the language it just infuriates me these people are even allowed to be doing stuff like this) and I’m not a left winger or a right winger , more of a centrist they are good and bad in each apples in each camp.

Some people have a very visceral reaction to when they see diversity right in front of them. They can look past metaphors for social justice like with mutants if the characters are aesthetically reflect them imo. Once they don't its a different story, their minds shut off and for them that automatically makes the character lose all relatability. Its like code switching if you're trying to get a job, they'll have an excellent conversation with you on phone, take no issue with your resume/credentials but the moment you physically see them and they know you're not white the good vibes are gone and you're not getting a call back lol

Fascinating 1) "Less politics" or really "no politics" is ironically a decidedly political stance to take, because at minimum it favours the speaker's own politics over others and at the most, or it completely ignores the politics that the speaker entirely takes for granted. There is no apolitical stance. Seeking to invalidate an opinion because you don't "want" (read: like) the politics is in itself a political stance. These people are acting as if this is there Vietnam War, and they are conscientious objectors. But not even a conscientious objector who refused to partake in the politics of war would have called their stance apolitical. 2) not hiring creative staff "on the basis of their gender, sexuality or ethnicity" is similarly ironic, because of what it really means -- that the speaker believes too many staff from diverse and minority backgrounds are being hired. And this whole line of argument is a trap, because irrespective of why a person is hired, the speaker will always see a diverse or minority hire as "political". Of course, they will never see the opposite as political because to them, it's "normal", i.e. the politics that they take completely for granted. But because they view diversity and minority groups as inherently political identities while viewing their own identity as politically neutral, their viewpoint on these hires will never change. 3) not replacing, embarrassing (whatever tf that means for a fictional character!) or changing heroes is a very transparent hypocrisy, because these characters are changed all-time. What the speaker really means is not changing them to be representative of diverse or minority groups in ANY positive way. So again, this is another demand that is ironic because it's actually saying that replacing or changing heroes is fine as long as they are changed in ways that are politically correct to the speaker. And I'm using "political correctness" at in the way that it's supposed to be used, as a neutral term that could apply to the policing and virtue signalling of any ideology. 4) to have their complaints taken seriously and not brushed aside is bigotry. This is another ironic demand, because in most cases, they are already getting it. Their complaints ARE being taken seriously, which is why their demands consistently cause controversy; and their demands are NOT being "brushed aside" bigotry, because in most cases, they are being accurately IDENTIFIED as bigotry. Basically, the speaker is demanding to be taken objectively without bias while making a demand that thoroughly exposes their OWN biases and their own inherent blindness to them, e.g. their bigotry

i really don't understand why people think everything that comes out is woke. i haven't seen a bad comic movie or show since Batman Begins came out. batwoman is a really good show. i mean that first season was kind of bad. but thankfully it stopped being super woke after Ruby Rose left. Captain Marvel was pretty good as well. that movie wasn't woke in any way. Birds of prey was a fucking great movie same.with both Suicide Squad Movies. basically for me if its based on a comic be it Marvel, DC or something else. it will always be good to me. even if its bad its still good. meanwhile you got people that are either not watching the movies/shows. Or you got people that come into it with the intentions of picking it apart and looking for every single flaw real or imaginary. like how do you enjoy anything in life if you're always looking for the flaws in something.
