This is beautiful! It reminded me of the blue alien song off of Fifth Element. Have you ever thought of doing a cover of that? It'd be amazing on the Theramin!

This is the most beautiful rendition of "Clair de Lune" ever! It seems this piece was actually written for an instrument that hadn't yet been invented! : )

I wish i could play an instrument. I’ve tried loads over the years but don't have the talent or the patience. So I just get my pleasure from masters like Carolina.
@nuynobi2 жыл бұрын
@@notbadsteve You don't need talent, my friend. It's just a matter of putting in the hours. If you found yourself short on patience, maybe you were putting too much pressure on yourself. Just remember to have fun. You're doing it for the love of music after all. Personally, I derive the most satisfaction from playing with others so maybe try learning with a friend.

I think Debussy would cry listening to this it’s so utterly beautiful. I am so grateful to have found this video! Hands down my favorite song ever, and now my new favorite rendition. I’m in awe 🥹

This song always reminds me of the one I love so dearly. In my culture, on the wedding day, the men wear white sandalwood paste on their forehead just above the eyebrows in small dots exactly like how you have worn. The women also do that but they also wear red vermillion along with sandalwood. And we usually get married during the dusk or at nightime. I'm aware of the fact that for some, this is a melancholy song. But for me, it's a song of pure love and nostalgia. And you played the theremin so beautifully. Thank you for this wonderful piece. It was truly ethereal ♥️

Beethoven and Mozart wouldve been all over this machine had it existed in their times I believe. To play music with the waving of one's hands is remarkable and deeply connects the individual with the instrument.

First of all, Clair de Lune has always been my favorite piece of music since first hearing it as a child. Secondly, just when I thought that I had heard the best renditions of this piece ever done, this lady blows my mind! I am at a loss for words except to say OMG, thank you for this gift you have shared that adds an extra wow factor to the greatest piece of music ever written. 🎶😍.

I had no idea the theremin could be played like this. Thank you for sharing this with the world. This is incredible.

Quite a few years back there was a comment by a snob somewhere about the Theremin as a "contraption" far too temperemental and imprecise to be considered a serious musical instrument. Ms. Eyck has proven that statement false and demonstrated precise body control as the key to "temper the beast". This video gives a unique musical experience of theremin and voice, just wonderful! The Theremin IS a musical instrument controlled by the dancing hands of a true master😊

Thank you Caroline. When I was a young lad of 10 years old. I built a theremin in my garage. I was into electronics and had found a schematic for a two antenna theremin and built it . I spent the next year enjoying using it. I could never do what you do with it but it gave me a lot of enjoyment. I haven't played all your music yet but give me time. Hearing you play brought back so many memory's for me from what I did over 50+ years ago. Again thank you.

The late Isao Tomita would have loved this version too! It is strangely similar to his rendition, though while similar sounding, Tomita's version is a bit more...orchestral? Anyways, I feel like the main melody and the Theremin are a match made in heaven.

Having a Theremin and playing for over 14 years, the more analog you can add via pedals or by using a device like the Moog Theremini takes all of this to a totally new level such as adding looping, digital delay, harmonizer, flange etc. It's one of the most expressive instruments because YOU are the instrument. So beautiful!

Subbed! Carolina is absolutely the finest Theramin player that I've ever heard. Absolutely amazed. I hope you don't mind my making this comparison. Another of my favorite musicians is Isao Tomita. His version sounds very much like this. Different to be true, but both Carolina and Isao have done something with Claire De Lune that haunts your daydreams. So amazed!
