I’m amazed I found this video! I inherited one, it was gifted to my Mom before I was born (I’m 65) learned how to sew in that machine and still Use it once in a while. Thank you so much for posting this. Many blessings to all!

......Nice to know the history of my Necchi Super stitches as usual, bought this 65 years ago "what's broken...But still works'''....the left black "nodge" broke off but the right nodge holds it fine the second thing that broke the min. knob doesn't work that controls the speed of the machine, just the max. speed works, did not get the cams at the time ...the machine was $300.00 & the cams were more. that was a lot og money in the 1957 I paid it "On Time" that machine paid for itself over the years...I have so many g-daughters none of them has any interest at all. thanks so much great video

So kind of you to share your Necchi experience Ann. And its quite amazing to know the price of this machine back then. Most consumer items and not just sewing machines were costly back then. But then, many of those items had longer lifespans so you most definitely got your money's worth I'd say!

I was just about to purchase a Necchi Mira BU for 100 but was sold out from under me. Found a Supernova in perfect condition and seems like it was reg serviced. In its original table for 325 w/ manuals and all plates. Do you think it’s worth 325??

I just bought a White 1514 that is seized solid. Poor thing. Absolutely NOTHING moves and the inside is crusted with rust. I’m not ready to entirely give up on it, but I don’t hold out much hope. I love seeing you bring these old girls back to life!

Sorry to hear that April. It can happen when someone owns a machine but does not value it. There are various techniques for "un-freezing" a machine. I show some of these in a series of videos I made when I got a Singer 185 that was in the same condition you describe. Here are links to some of those relevant videos: Watch them in order of 12, then 13. Note that I had to remove all of the electricals before trying this procedure as you don't want any kind of liquids touching the electrical parts. The product I did my Soaking in for the machine was Marvel's Mystery Oil which you can find at most auto parts stores. All of this was then cleaned off before reattaching and testing the electric power for the machine. Its not a super fast process but it did work along with some of my own elbow grease as you will see in the videos. It is a 3 steps forward, 2 steps backward kind of repair but my patience with this one paid off. @@VintageSewingMachineGarage Thank you for the information and the links! I will most definitely check them out. The 1514 is such a pretty machine, I’d love to see it working again.

We just got a Necchi BU Supernova like you show in this video. The power cord had been spliced. Need to know how to replace the power cord. Not sure we are getting any power to the machine. It has no foot pedal just a knee pedal. Not sure if that has been changed. We have all the parts cams and etc. Any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest taking your machine to a local Sewing/Vacuum service shop. They 'might' be able to help you with the basic wiring.

Typically the foot pedal is up in the machine with the knee lever pressing against the foot pedal that’s held in place by a bracket.
