Huge fan of AleXa since 2014. I found Beomhan because of her. With all due respect I don't believe ZB would be best for him. They'd make a bomb MV and dance choreo but he wants to sing. imho they need better vocal trainers because whatever they are doing, it is not doing AleXa's vocals justice. Not bad by any means but something is holding her vocals back from going that extra mile. I don't know how to describe it but something is missing. I am honestly so happy that he made the remix contest - there are people speculating that he got the idea by that one KZbinr (someone here definitely knows their name) who regularly redoes kpop songs and stated they'd potentially remake the entire song if they got access to the raw vocals as well as instrumental so it does show that people have interest in remaking it especially with a prize and having the artist and probably a lot of other people see the video It also helps Beomhan gain even more attention (I mean he even got a Midnight Theories video made about him which was quite out of the blue for me) I still really think Beomhan would suit a group so well and I hope that one day he finds a company he can trust and also officially join a group after his solo debut (since he's very close with him Jay Chang is a great example of a well known trainee who debuted solo first before officially joining a group, although basically everyone already knew he'd join OnePact) Still wishing him the best on whatever he's gonna do in the future and I hope he takes advantage of his rapping and people skill because they are rather impressive instead of starting to feel insecure about his singing - there's a big difference between knowing something isn't the best and wanting to improve vs. being insecure about something

The critique is right, his vocal needs work and the production of the song as well as the video all needed work. I know he was on a budget but a lot can be done even on a small budget. As for Beomhan he is nowhere near ready to debut and I think he needs a lot of professional assistance as this debut was too rushed. Unfortunately in K-pop if your company terminates you others are not willing to sign you, unless you are talented, so maybe that could also be a possibility for him. As for the production competition $1000 is not enough and he should not re-record that song until he improves his vocal.

If I were a hobbyist producer, this would be an amazing opportunity. Maybe I’m just poor, but $1000 is insane. He has a lot of followers as a content creator, but as a musician he is very small and new. Even with the song reproduced, it likely wouldn’t trend and it’ll take him a while as a lone soloist to reach heights. I don’t know anything about the prices in the music industry, but I feel like a $1000 reward is great. Some people will take it very seriously and do their absolute best, others just for fun. I don’t think there’s any problem with it so long as proper credit is given in the end.

Yeah, as a hobbyist, the prize sounds great to me. Under normal circumstances, I'll never make a cent for the songs that I've worked on because I'm an independent producer with no audience. Participating in a contest held by an influencer, even if they're not the most popular in existence, is a chance to get my name out there and also a chance to earn a ton of money if I win! i didn’t know Beomhan prior to this undebut but the thing about music is that irregardless of talent an artist doesn’t always receive the feedback that anticipate for their albums/performances/cb. also a lot of good music flies under the radar and doesn’t chart or have the fan base needed to support a profitable music career. unfortunately, the song isn’t good and there’s this weird expectation in kpop to pretend a song is good when it isn’t because criticism is misconstrued as hate.

I'm an ahjumma in the Kpop fandom by now and let me tell you, I consider Coin Jackson's debut "Feedback" to be one of the worst considering the marketing that proceeded it and the complete 180 the group took from how it was initially pitched. The song wasn't actually all that bad but, considering they were initially pitched as a "hip hop acapella" group and we got...not that, anything better than that is a success in my book! Honestly, I'm not even gonna knock his ambition. He invested his own money into his dream and is TRYING. I do suggest that he not be a one-man show with the studio recording and mixing & mastering the tracks by himself. It's awesome that he learned at a novice-level how to mix & master but he NEEDS a professional or someone who's better self-taught to be on his team. I've listened to a couple fan-edits of his debut song and they managed to mix & master it better than him and spruce up the beat as well to make it catchy/more danceable. He should do a contest and make like 3-5lucky fans a part of his music production team, credit them (that way they can start resume of their own as well), and take them on the journey with him. I'm sure he'd go farther that way! And he'd have a team of awesome people who ride with him and believe in him! I wish him the best of luck and hope he doesn't give up on his dream.

the quality sounds like a norebang recording tbh, but it does have potential at the hands of a good musical team. he's young and his voice can still improve with training so i hope he doesn't get disheartened. i'm also a product of vocal training and it's very effective when you find a good vocal coach. i once wanted to join a choir to spend some extacurricular time with a crush who was a member but i failed the audition because i already know i'm a bad singer but i naively thought i could pass to do the humming or "doowop" parts. i convinced my parents to let me attend some singing lessons and it did help. i went from sounding like a terrible out-of-tune banshee to finally passing the choir audition. at some point, i was even being encouraged to join singing competitions (which i didn't because i know i'm not _that_ good, and at the time my only goal was the choir because crush)

I think the first verse & prechorus is rough, but the rest of the song flows much better, so i was able to get into it. The vocals sound very isolated from the music, so it sounds a little jarring to me. A contest is a contest, if someone values a grand as sufficient payment for their work, thats their prerogative. I cant imagine a large selection of GOOD remixes being done at that amount though 😅 Edit: I think even if he has a limited range of vocals, learning to utilize it would benefit, like JR/Jonghyeon from NUEST. He was the rapper, but did vocals occasionally. Comparatively to his former members, he has the weakest voice, but his current solo work is thriving with him bouncing between singing, sing talk, & his rap.

You know what's the worst debut ? A kpop group from a very good company that had all the budget and time to produce somethign amazing but gave us a song that's disappointing. That is the song Meow from meovv which nobody should tolerate because they had the money and everything else needed to make a good debut song. Instead , this is what we got. Now many people will not agree with my opinion and that's ok but we have to aknowledge that Beomhan doesn't have any of this ( the agency, a full team to help him ,a studio to produce music ) and used his own money to make that song which is already incredible. Damn, the choreo shown here is straight fire, but I agree that the vocal does need some polish. Still, there's definitely promise, and the kid clearly has the drive to get somewhere with this. Gonna check out the mv and might mess around with remixing (I'm just learning how to produce music so it could be an interesting project, though I'm unlikely to submit it assuming the contest is still on.) Great video as always! (Unrelated: who's the girl group in black & yellow at the start of the reel in the beginning? Something about that choreo grabbed me.) Edit now that I've gotten into the full MV & song: the mix is definitely not great. Vocals need work but are less off than I expected from the clip. I think he may have been a bit hasty, maybe from the excitement of wanting to debut ASAP (and maybe some financial insecurity driving it to a degree), which I understand. I've left a positive comment because I can see that he can definitely do the work, and with more time and practice with vocal performance he could become one hell of a performer. He's clearly got the dancing down.

can we cut my boy some slack? Granted, that song was the cringiest thing I have ever had the displeasure to listen to, not because he lacks talent, he lacks practice and help, a lot of help. I still commend his determination, being a one man team is hard. At least he takes it in strides. I know not many people can take his personality but for me he is so goddamn hilarious and over the top...maybe is because I am also a hyper chihuahua on too much caffeine.

Tbh. I like the song for the most part and I like him! He is so talented. But alone it's a different task to build up his idol career, and tbh he shouldn't be an idol... Bc if he is able to grow his fan base significantly, toxic fans will join too. Which further will hurt his mental state even more. I'm just worried and I think he isn't suit in this harsh industrie. We lost many souls already....
