I don't think evil editing is happening much in Jiyoon's case. Right from the start it looks like Mnet and the producers are rooting for Jiyoon and kept highlighting her skills a lot right from the first episode I think it's just rude that Jiyoon only greeted Fuko and not Jungeun while leaving the stage. It's just a matter of respect whether you like a person or not, just to atleast keep up with the idol image In my opinion it does seem like Jungeun wants this feud to end but Jiyoon is just making this so hard for her It's just frustrating to see her bad attitude like this, given she is definitely one of, if not the best singer on this show

Dont believe everything mnet shows in the show. Its clearly edited they are okay now for sure if ever there is a feud other members would notice the difference. Its just mnets tactics as always to keep the show interesting.

I think the drama between Jiyoon and Jungeun is from the first I-land love song situation. Jiyoon was originally the main vocalist however the judges said that Jungeuns voice fitted the song better. So since Jungeun was the leader she made herself the main vocalist and Jiyoon got pushed into a smaller role and became cold to the rest of the group which lead nobody voting for her to stay in I-land. She went to ground after that and I think Mnet wants us to believe that Jiyoon blames Jungeun for going to ground.

Maybe I'm just biased because of western music shows, but I don't understand why they break up the competitions. Yes, I can rewatch all of them because they're on youtube, but as a show, it makes it so difficult to judge them properly as a viewer. I can't tell if the jduges' opinions are understandable if the i-landers' stage was last week and the grounder's is this week

I don't know what it is, but something in I-Land 2 just throws me off completely... I just finished watching I-Land 1 and it is sooo diffrent from I-Land 2. As much as I love girlgroups and cute stuff - after I-land 1 which is dark, kinda creepy-vibe and in a seemingly serious enviornment moving to I-Land 2 which is overly cutesy and bright, almost cringey, this alone makes a really huge difference for me... and makes it actually less enjoyable. :(

tbh every time I click on a video about Plave I prepare for the worst bc I'm so used to ppl carelessly spreading misinformation when it comes to them, but it's nice to come across a very well-made video from time to time. Thank you sm🥲💜 I think some companies will definitely want to debut virtual groups in the kpop industry, but considering the criticism I've seen towards Aeonit for example, they will need to offer smth different in terms of design to attract more attention; but without resorting to the Japanese design that's usually more attractive to the vtubing community than kpopers. They will also need their mocap tech to be good at capturing expressions, even more than bodies. PLAVE's success was quite accidental tho, as many decisions about the group-including the way the members came together without resorting to auditions-were made bc there was no other option. And bc both Vlast and the members had nothing to lose and dared to take risks. That means there really isn't a "formula" to follow to make a virtual group attractive to the public without taking risks, unless you do it they usual kpop way and try to find members with similar skills through auditions. But i still think that in this specific case, to reach an even larger audience, including kpopers, like PLAVE did, it'd be key for a future virtual kpop group to not only have good chemistry but also be able to produce their own music or choreo-and this is no shade to non-self-produced groups at all-. I say this bc Isegye Idol is a good example of a vtuber group with Japanese-style design that despite only singing&dancing, is extremely popular in the Korean vtubing community. But not so much in the kpop one (at least not the intl one). I think that's bc kpopers are less familiar with the vtuber/virtual concept and tend to be even more demanding or prejudiced when it comes to it. So a self-produced group of irl friends (producing from the very beginning with total creative freedom) is an attractive and very human element in an industry where this is not the norm and occurs less frequently imo.

Thanks for making a video on PLAVE! One of the members, Noah, is a known gymrat and he keeps talking about exercising during live broadcasts and one day he brought up the dumbbell lightstick as a joke. Then for april fools last year, their unveiled a fake dumbbell lightstick as a joke. Months later when VLAST gave fans the option to choose a lightstick design, most fans chose the dumbbell lightstick over the generic shape and that is how the official dumbbell lightstick was born. PLLIs love that it is unique with a special story behind it and we joke about how we're going to end up being the fittest fans after their concerts :).

Doomed from the start is always the description I hear given to Topp Dogg, and sadly, it's perfectly accurate. Stardom/Hunus had no clue what they were doing with this group. Going from a planned 6 to a whopping 13 members just to media play them to actual popular groups, set their fate imo. The numerous different subunits they planned was like NCT on steroids and did them no favors. And the constant releases and blowing their already small budget on a billion different things just messed them up. They clearly just hoped Topp Dogg would just become popular through thin air and when that didn't happen and members started dropping like flies, they basically gave up on them. Being a Topp Klass was so painful that I had to leave during the survival show era of Xeno-T. I'm at least glad to hear that many of the guys are doing better now.

I can definitely see other companies trying to replicate Plave's success but Plave is a very lightning in a bottle type thing. The company has a lot of experience with this tech, apparently enough money to invest in a project like this, and also the skill to pick out this group of guys for this. The members themselves are also amazing as idols, obviously, but them being able to ALSO be entertaining livestreamers really plays a part imo. They really took everything appealing about kpop idols and vtubers and found the perfect way to blend the two. To do that you need to be knowledgable in both areas, which isn't something most other companies can bring to the table.

I think one of the major differences between plave (and kda) and other virtual groups is the emphasis that there are real humans and voices behind the characters meanwhile other groups are at least part ai generated and that doesn't bode well for them with ai becoming more and more controversial as time goes on.

I really don't want to sound rude, but I feel like this big hate towards virtuality sounds a bit hypocritical since kpop is already extremely virtual. We're literally virtual users who listen to music, learn about artists, watch MVs, maybe vote, get updates, etc. through virtuality most of the time, if not all of the time. But we can still connect with art through our screens. Also, imagine worrying that animated movies are going to replace movies filmed solely with humans. That doesn't happen, bc both modalities offer two different experiences. This situation is no different ✌

I came from watching Kingdom's flip that coin music video. It had something to do with Pixy's Villain and Karma. I have a theory: Pixy were cursed by witch after the revelation of the wings belonging to another fairy with one wing. They were all reincarnated as criminals in modern day Seoul. They all lost their memories of their old live as wing less fairies. Pixy became villains in this new story, they have the freedom to be the rebels but the people try to either execute or arrest them. They manipulate people to avoid getting caught. Then they reunited with each other except Ella wasn't here(Since Ella left the group in 2021), Ella might have been the first to die from the witch cursed. Pixy formed a criminal gang with each other and their newest member is Rinji (Who may have been the one winged fairy from the ending of the first trilogy). Rinji was the only one who had memories of her old life, and she had a vendetta against Pixy for her lost wing and is planning her revenge. The one who reincarnated Pixy and Rinji isn't revealed. I'm sure Bookish theories can make a video about it.

I completely agree with you on the lack of talent in the contestants. Not even just lack of talent but also lack in variety of talent. I feel like they’re all all rounder types or aspiring to be which makes groups so bland in reality you should have maybe one or two all rounders and the main dancer/vocal/rapper should excel in their respective positions. It would also be nice to have some trainees that have talent that’s more than just rapping singing or dancing

i think some people are being too quick to judge on this. the final group will be like, 7 members, so they really only need one/two main vocalists (jiyoon/jungeun) while other trainees like fuko, sarang and sujung would make for good lead vocalists obviously the vocals aren’t strong in this show, and the main vocalists in iland 2 would be considered lead vocal material anywhere else, but it’s nothing a little training can’t fix since jungeun and jiyoon have already proven that there’s potential there

Honestly for me, I-Land 2 is really boring compared to the first I-Land. And it seems like many people feel the same, that's why I-Land 2 isn't gaining much attention. Also, the show didn't really serve any breathtaking talents to me. The Drama performance was good, the rest just wasn't memorable at all, or just the negative sides of the performances. What I really dislike about this whole setup is that forced pinkish cutesy concept, with that little ai-pet thingy introduced in the first ep. While I do appreciate cute, girly concepts and overall I like girl groups more than boy groups, this seems SO forced cutesy and girly to me, it's just too much. I even cringed a few times. I miss the kind of creepy vibe that gave of I-Land 1.

And I know this is gonna come off as a little selfish from me but I'll be just as sad if they disband as I will be if they change their concept :( the karma-villain comebacks were already really different but I guess they were somewhat justified within the storyline, but in this sea of endless kpop groups on the market, it will be sad (and a little pointless tbh) if they decide to switch up to something different in favor of hitting a broader audience
