Galaxy Quest is actually one of my favorite movies, it was no joke my introduction to Star Trek as a kid, I never watched it when I was younger, and my Dad showed me Galaxy Quest, and it was hilarious, and got me interested enough to check out Star Trek myself. I regret nothing!

Nooooh! You didn't eat enough of the watapachi cotton candy, Ashens! It always tends to gather up further in the middle of the package but inside is popping candy and the whole point of that treat is to have the fluffy soft texture of the cotton candy combined with the overwhelming sensation of the rather aggressive popping candy :D In combination it's also not as sweet anymore. Sorry, couldn't hold back myself and had to share this absolutely crucial piece of information ;)

The problem with that Treats box is that most of the items inside can be found in your local grocery store - or hell, even 7-11 has an international section. There are some neat Japanese snacks subscriptions boxes out there, though. I like to see those little DIY kits and candies with unique flavours.

Japanese candy and treats do taste a bit strange to the average foreigner, particularly to the Americans (I myself being one), but while I'm here in Japan, I'm finding that the food is friggin' delicious! I'm actually going to have a strawberry short cake bite-sized... cube-ish thing in just a minute when I finish my onigiri, but things are great. I'd love some Mexican tacos, but the closest I can get here are some Dontacos brand chili taco crisps/chips. And they taste EXACTLY like taco salad. The Japanese know how to do flavor.

+chapomon I prefer travelling to the nearest shop specialising in food from other countries. Polish food is dirt cheap for the quality level, even though it's imported. A WW bar is far superior to, and is cheaper than, a KitKat, their Cheetos are excellent, the wide range of E Wedel and Milka bars is incredible, and that's not to mention their strangely wide range of cheese slices, and sesame snacks with excellent Alan Partridge inspired names like "Aha!" I've only been to one (specifically) Chinese supermarket. I did consider buying the 2 kilo bag of chicken feet, but I didn't think I'd use that many. Indian and Middle Eastern supermarkets are great too for instant noodles of every conceivable variety. Overall, I enjoy the experience of visiting specialist supermarkets more - there's the danger and excitement of choosing something that doesn't fit in with your palate, and there's nothing better than going to work for a week with various mystery food and drink items for your lunch.

I have a big plastic jar thing that's exactly like what Ashens describes in 7:35, minus the leaking chloride. They're mostly for batteries that are drained enough that they don't work for a lot of electronics, but still have enough juice for smaller ones and can last a few more hours.

Really sick of everything being 8-bit, now. We get it, retro games are cool. It's becoming like the most unoriginal thing when it comes to indie games. I'm not a big fan of them in the first place (too much jumpscare horror shit that isn't scary, and only exists so Pewdiepie and Markiplier get views, and just ideas that really don't work from a game perspective. But there are some I really like), but far too many of them just use it instead of having a distinctive art style. And Pop figures are ugly as shit.

+WilkerZin to be fair, the 8bit and other pixel based art styles are far cheaper to create, thus allowing an indie developer to spend more time on gameplay. Undertale was game of the year for quite a few people and it was purely pixel. AAA games try and make the game look realistic to appeal to people whose eyes are bigger than their brains. Who see something pretty and go "I want that!" instead of "hold on a second, this looks similar to the previous game made by that developer, with updated animations and textures. Edit: Some AAA games can be both pretty and have great gameplay, but they are typically released 5 years after the previous title in the series. There are exceptions, Assassin's creed: Black flag was great overall and it was released a year or two after it's predecessor.

Yeah, I pretty much stopped watching everyone else's LootCrate unboxings because I got sick of them sucking off LootCrate every month. Even when they get something as utterly shit as a FUCKING INFLATABLE FUCKING CROWN, they still give LootCrate a giant hummer. I think Ashens and DarkSydePhil (yes, I just said that, come at me bro) are the only two people I've seen not only call a LootCrate shit, but also consider the possibility of not unboxing LootCrates anymore and switching to something else. Thus, those are the only LootCrate videos I watch anymore.

+Zac Smith personally I'm hit and miss with them, some designs work some don't, I have this one and I think it works, storm troopers work, my Peter Capaldi Dr who one works, but my Daryl Dixon (from early episodes) looks nothing like what he actually looks like (the figure makes him look half asleep the only similar part is the crossbow) but i have seen so many crap ones it's untrue. if i see ones I like and actually represent the character they are based on then I do get them but other than that I prefer getting the proper figures (like my rare figure of Yoko from Gurren Lagann)

Genuinely only ever seen one I like, which I now own. It's Super Saiyan Goku, because the Dragon Ball art style suits super deformed, but even I agree that there are better ways to design him. Never seen another Funko that I like

In case anyone is wondering, on eBay the Funko Pop Han Solo BNIB is for sale at a "buy it now" for £6 with free P&P. So it looks like they actually go down in value. There's also a few others listed in the auction and they normally sell for between £2 and £4 but these do not include P&P......

Pretty sure the gatling gun looking thing on the shirt was the radioisotope thermoelectric generator on the New Horizon's probe. Pretty common power source on space probes where longevity is a concern but solar power isn't an option.
