Any chance you and your wife could do a vid on making decals with the machine? Tryin to figure out if it’s worth ordering up all that. Would be awesome!

Hey buddy do you remember what font your wife used for the decals?
@robsyamahajetboatdiymainte41626 жыл бұрын
It's called Flighter. I had to download it.

The boat name is different and honestly I don't remember that one. The software my wife uses allows her to trace from a picture and recreate it..

Love your videos and thank you for your service to our country. I boat in Lake Havasu, Arizona. I do not see a ton of Yamaha boats on the water. Can you speak to the quality of their ride and the longevity of their engines? Thanks!
@robsyamahajetboatdiymainte41625 жыл бұрын
AHHH good ole lake havasu! Used to go there often when I was stationed at 29 Palms.. Anyways, the Yamahas are very well built and can take a beating with waves and such.. the engines are also very dependable and if regular maintenance and proper flushing is done they will last for years. I have not had any major issues with the boat at all...

You should use a Vinyl cutter machine which are cheap today. Guess you bought one. Cool. I have used them for all kinds of stuff. Im looking to buy one of these boats myself.

Can these decals be cut with scissors or a razor blade
@robsyamahajetboatdiymainte41626 жыл бұрын
Yes they can but I really dont recommend it as you won't get straight lines, no matter how steady of a hand you might have.

Where can I find somebody that has a cutter for that are there any kind of special shops or what should I be looking for
@robsyamahajetboatdiymainte41626 жыл бұрын
Simple google search for vinyl decals near you.. if you like the ones we used in the video you can show it to them and they can order it for you. The cutter we have was only $250 and material is pretty cheap though Amazon.

i like the idea of making your own decals but how will you keep them from stripping off when under way?
@robsyamahajetboatdiymainte41626 жыл бұрын
They are sticky! They have the same adhesion as the factory decals.

Hey Rob does your interior dry out faster with the black mooring cover on ? Also what do you use on your interior ,303 protectant ?
@robsyamahajetboatdiymainte41626 жыл бұрын
RICK Kolbow no it doesn't, it just gets really muggy under there and smells. I leave it uncovered as long as I can to dry in the sun before covering.. I normally use goof off on seats but looking for something better...

Love your vids. Very informative. Have a question. Looking at an AR210, new. wondering how the TR1 engines hold up with pulling tubes and skiers. I know the TR2 engines put out a lot more hp, but I'm already stretching the budget for the AR210 and the Limited S is another $10k. Thoughts?
@robsyamahajetboatdiymainte41626 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching... I'm not an engine expert so the only thing I really know about the TR1 is that its a 3 cylinder that puts out close to equal amounts of HP as the 1.8 liter.. I'm old fashioned in my thinking so if a 4 cylinder does X, and a 3 cylinder also does X, that means the 3 cylinder is working much harder.. archaic thinking I know but that's just me. If it wasn't a successful engine they wouldn't use it. The only thing better and a single Tr1 is two 1.8 liters... lol... useless answer I know but I hope you pick something useful from it...

Ay Rob real quick. Any experience with touching up gelcoat on the hull from minor dings and scratches? I can’t for the life of me find the color code for my 2009 232 limited. (Tan champagne color). Thanks. Happy boating. Oh and check out my testimonial I sent in on the Mantus website. Cheers- Richie

its worked for decals on my truck and cars for years... everyone has things they think is better than others.... but doesn't make one "WRONG" over another. But thanks for the input.
