That’s why I prefer to live in Tier-2 city life! Peace of mind, no stress, no traffic, low cost of living and most importantly can give full time to family, dropping & picking my child from school, spend quality time with spouse after working hours. Happiness matters! ❤

In India better work & earning opportunities are only in a few Tier 1 cities & maybe 2 or 3 tier 2 cities. People have no choice but to live in just these handful of cities.

People going on strike for cauvery, for Shakti scheme....no protest or no strike for poor infrastructure of road....no improvement plans from government.....same delay in metro work....no introduction of local or passenger trains from hosur to yeshwantpur I feel very sad for my Bangalore

B'lore is literally a dying city. Lack of broad roads & easy access to public transport , traffic congestion, water shortage, housing reaching a crisis point ....anyways there are no laws to protect renters from getting exploited .. + So many other issues

I asked my Manager for "work from Bus" option. Metro construction, lane indiscipline, so many to blame. Feels so sad to my Bengaluru like this. Just calculate the time lost due to traffic. So many precious Human hours lost. No family time, No time for self either. We have become like machines

Most people in our country are highly corrupted,uncivilized and state govts in most states are lazy and corrupt They spend money on themselves,freebies and just running the administration and projects that take decades to complete. Truth is we are nowhere close to china in development , China gdp is mammoth $19Trillion. The roads and infrastructure is top notch, They clean the roads every day using a truck water spray.

Unless you have a job that requires physical presence, why not just work from home most of the days? If most people followed this, the traffic issues of Bangalore would drastically reduce till some long term solutions are found.

@@altmosetz_01 Why can't individuals demand it? I am not asking you to answer the question but to ponder upon it. Between spending endless hours in traffic, turning up drained of energy at work and then at home in the evening, it makes a lot of sense to bring this up with the management and negotiate the number of work from home days. There is no dearth of companies in a place like Bangalore if they don't listen to you! Besides, people who "abuse" remote work are not going to be super productive onsite either, they would find ways to slack regardless.

@@pramodkn15 More likely, it would result in a deserted town with high crime rates and financial ruin for everyone. With the "outsiders" gone, millions of people originally from the nearby districts in Karnataka would face a lack of opportunity in the local and business, infrastructure and service industries and that would cause both a massive reverse migration and a rise in crime levels. House prices would fall causing major real-estate related investment and pension funds to fail. Tax revenues would fall casing a large deficit for Karnataka causing it to become one of the poorest states from the current position of economic prosperity. Every coin has two sides and they cannot be separated: by wishing for one, you are going to get the other too.

I walked today 3 km in Bangalore to reach early than 95% of traffic. There is no sense to open any new company in Bangalore. It should go to other towns. I also saw school kids in buses at 8pm. I wonder why they go home so late ? I also feel sorry for our condition if any ambulance is stuck there is no common sense to give way. Zero sense, people earn lakhs in this city but have no basic sense to give path to emergency services.

It's true! Companies should be opened widespread, instead of IT parks, if they were all over the city followed by all over the state, then spreads to multiple states people from all over the country won't migrate to a single city, which might reduce traffic, water problems, rent/housing affordability.

You are able to walk 3 KM in bangalore. Thats an achievement.. Walking is the most toughest option in Bangalore withou injuring yourself.

@@hardtrailrider I agree. I came to Bangalore for 3 day visit. And I found it is not at all planned for pedestrians. Footpath is not accessible with any planning and people with disability or even without cannot use it. I felt like I am on pahadi yatra while walking all over no planned footpath. When it was available people with bikes misused them to run their bikes. Without any consideration that this is for walking and not biking. I also realised in these 3 days how much good life we have in Punjab with dense trees parks all over our planned colonies for kids to play and elderly to walk. And with remote work allowed in IT there is no need for companies to make employees slog in cities like Bengaluru. It's a waste of human productivity. I used my time listening to podcasts while walking. We need to think seriously what is the worth of these concrete jungles if we are not able to live with ease ? I felt extremely bad for kids stuck in school buses late at night whereas they should be hitting the grounds or dirt in playgrounds at this age. I wonder if there is any sustainable living concept in cities like these where people take pride in showing off expensive cars all over. There must be places that are planned and sustainable but I am sure they must be out of pockets for the average earner like me.

I have lived in bangalore for over 10 years, and I always hated the traffic. After the pandamic I moved back to my home town. Since then I've been working for companies that supports full remote employees. I have never felt so free when it comes to going somewhere. I don't ever want to come back.

Number of private vehicles Increased on the road since 2 years which is one of the major reason for heavy traffic. The reason behind is the high migration population for IT & other related jobs, Increased job opportunities, Increased techparks & apartments, without sufficient ground infra.

Any big city that's growing will have increasing number of vehicles. Govt has to plan at least 10 years ahead to manage this correctly. Whereas in India infra is looked into & some work gets done slowly only when situation reaches a crisis point

Well it's not the people's fault at all. Can't differentiate locals and others. It's the government. Why were so many offices built in one city alone and the same locals are earning the hell out of renting out houses also. In fact Bangalore is extremely dependent on outsiders for which they are being forced to get back. After covid most of them didn't even want to come back.

Delhi has more than 2 times more population than Bengaluru, but very less issues like these, authorities are full of corruption here and zero investment in public infrastructure, look at Delhi metro and expressway pace of expansion . Seems like in Bengaluru, roads and metro expansion 1km /year

The city had crossed its population limit long back, no amount of infra and management is going to help because its already done. The only option is to encourage techies to wfh so they don't have to come here and pay exorbitant amounts of rent and waste so many working hours commuting here

Done? Metros still are limited & have few routes. It's got a long way to go to really have a wide coverage . Flyovers & underpass are still not fully explored in Blore. Tho immediate issue is lack of traffic management. Plus alternative roads need to be determined & certain roads made one way to ease traffic on key routes -- Blore's big issue is that most roads are narrow

The problem with Bangalore traffic especially on outer ring road is that 1. every one wants to drive his/her own car considering the fact that next day being a holiday, WFH acts as a catalyst for an outing 2. Too many taxis in the city 3. Everyone wants to flaunt his car while going to office/ elsewhere. One day the taxis were on strike and every Bangalorean breathed. I dare the authorities to find a solution

Out of 28+ years for peripheral ring road, he has presented 12 budget, but didn't release budget to PRR. He presented so many budget didn't release budget to NEW BANGALORE CITY. He didn't release good package for Bengaluru development as well even being In 5years of CM. Why Tunnel Roads to make is flooding of water 💧 inside Tunnels 🤔. Being HIGHLY EDUCATED Mr. SINGH with Doctorate, was neverever Interested in REFORMS and Development of Educational System or Educational values. 1. Didn't work any kind of Reforms of Educational Boards or Educational System 2. Didn't do any kind of Reforms in Educational Institutions like IISC, ISRO, etc. 3. Previous years before BJP came in center it was mostly scams and corruption. Then after BJP issues shifted to Commission for Infra Scandal, Hijab & Tipu Sultan. There is literally no data you can point to show BJP did anything better in Bengaluru.

Today I have boarded BMTC at SilkBoard at 6:18 pm and I have reached Marthahalli at 9:10 pm, it took around 3 hours to cover 12 kms.

Unless all the companies in that stretch doesn’t collaboratively come up with a solution it isn’t possible, we cannot always be blaming the infrastructure. If every individual wants to come in their car, roads wont be able to accommodate it.

I've been traveling in bus for the last 7 years to office on the ORR despite having a car and a motorcycle. I'm yet to travel in a bus on the route where I get the bus on time and I'm not sandwiched between people during the peak hours. The only thing that has improved is the facility to buy the pass digitally rather than carry change and somehow buy a ticket in a heavily crowded bus before the BMTC flying squad board the bus and ask for everyone's tickets

B'lore reality ... Public buses are overcrowded on key routes + don't have point to point drop . Autos don't ply by meter + charge random high amounts & if booked thru apps many a times they cancel so totally unreliable . Metros have a long way to go to provide wider coverage, besides these lack availability of buses n autos at key stations . Bike service drivers who are a life line for working ppl are harassed & threatened by Auto drivers so this service has almost stopped. So what choice do daily commuters have but take their own vehicles ? And in that pollution & traffic congestion cars are a better option ---- protected from vehicle fume & music to de-stress when stuck in traffic. Anyways many companies do provide bus/ shuttle service for their employees but these just add to the traffic congestion. I beg to differ on this. Most of the Bengaluru common people are deriving benefits from the IT directly or indirectly. Look at the restaurants, PGs , rented office and houses, cabs .. it's not forcing to wfo. There are definitely advantages of wfo. What we need is to balance it with wfh. Like my company has flexible timings, 2 days of wfh

I don’t have any buses near where I stay and the frequency of them are too low. There’s no scope of public transport in my area and the roads are pathetic. Do read up on how chroma road underpass gets flooded in slight rains and the already existing blocks at Varthur. Very easy to blame public for not using public transport while also not providing bare minimum to make their commutes easier

Delivery boys and many two wheelers blatantly use footpaths to ride on leaving no room for pedestrians to walk. So even walkers are stuck in traffic!! Bangalore infra is really poor with major roads suddenly converging into narrow streets and lack of sufficient avenues linking major hubs of the city is the reason why we are struggling. There’s huge chunks of defence land in the middle of the city because of which we have one or two roads connecting two points like whitefield to city centre is only through Old Airport road or Old Madras road. Adding to these woes are the road discipline issues and number of vehicles on the road thanks to lack of public transport services. A vicious circle indeed.

This is why I take BMTC. It's pretty well connected. Time difference to reach any place by car vs City bus is usually 10-15 min. That's good for me. Also we should introduce some toll charge for cars with single occupant. This is what causes the heavy traffic. If people just use public transport, office cabs, 2-wheeler the problem can reduce easily. But I notice too many driving the car to office alone. These are one big factor for traffic.

Worst traffic jam ever seen, it is nothing to do with more vehicles but due to poor traffic management - struck in same place for 3 hours. Traffic police unnecessarily diverted to service road - there were only 3 or 4 police in the stretch from Sarjapur cross to Kalamandir- roads as such are not been touched in this entire year! Very unpleasant to live in BLR now

People tweeting about the traffic and sitting alone in a big SUV please try to pool in with other employees or friends on the same route. I have been car pooling since 2018 and it helps a lot in decreasing congestions. Yest I travelled in ORR and 80% of the cars had only one person driving. If we pool it would be much better. Yes we need Govt to act on it and solve too but let's do our part. Uber and Ola pools are also out of their apps not sure why. It used to be a good option to Uber Pool but these commuting apps have to step up too.
