December 2022 Twisted Colossus Roller Coaster On Ride 4K POV Six Flags Magic Mountain

Twisted Colossus is a steel roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park in Santa Clarita, California. Originally designed and built by International Amusement Devices, the roller coaster opened as Colossus, a dual-tracked roller coaster, on June 29, 1978. It was the tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster in the world and the first with two drops greater than 100 feet (30 m). Colossus became well known after appearances in film and television, including the box-office hit National Lampoon's Vacation and the made-for-TV movie Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park.
After more than 36 years in operation, Six Flags announced that Colossus would be closed permanently on August 16, 2014. Within two weeks of its closure, Six Flags announced that the roller coaster would reemerge in 2015 as a steel-tracked roller coaster named Twisted Colossus. It was renovated by Rocky Mountain Construction to feature barrel roll inversions, and a near-vertical drop. Twisted Colossus opened on May 23, 2015.

I have ridden this and the old Colossus back in the day. And while you cant get the old ride back you can still experience it somewhat; the scent going up the lift hill is the same. Some mixture of dried wood and cable grease.

That’s called an anti rollback buddy, it’s not intentional, it’s so if the chain on the chain lift just lost full power you wouldn’t roll backwards at full speed.

Back row (or as close to the back as possible) is a MUST on this ride. This ride is all about airtime, and you get the absolute most of it near the back of the train. I cannot stress this enough! Of course it's still fun at the front, but the back is where all the magic really happens. Get pulled hard in the back row in every airtime hill, feels like you're going to escape the car until your thighs hit the lapbar (but please don't let this scare you; the best rides are when the ride ops don't staple you in; complete adrenaline rush. I normally put my feet in the "tippy toe* position to get as much room as possible)

My favorite roller coaster of all time! I have ridden it 3 times in my life so far. This ride is WAYYY better than Goliath! I hate Goliath! But i'd give anything for Twisted Colossus! Im excited for my next ride on this.

Love the goliath drop and smoothness but hate that double helix at the end. For twisted i love the duality and inversions but hate the "airtime". It always hurts my thighs. We need a twisted colossus with goliath smoothness.

Was just here yesterday Best ride easily. Something has been up with X2. I went on yesterday night with no fire or no music. That wasn’t even the worst part. There was so much head and leg banging and on that last turn I almost started crying because my legs were in so much pain. I put Tatsu, TC, and Wonder Woman over X2

Always get an inside seat on X2 for it to be somewhat enjoyable. Also I don’t think music has been on X2 for the past year and a half. The fire only seems to come sometimes during summer or fright fest.

I like this ride but it's at the wrong park. Putting a dueling coaster at a park like six flags is a joke. This ride is legit 10x better when you race, but six flags doesn't give you that experience anymore and you'd be lucky if you get at least 1 race. The coaster should've been designed better to allow for two simultaneous races.

One train has to complete the circuit before they can release the other train to race with it since you make a complete run on BOTH sides now as opposed to before RMC got their hands on it. it's one continuous track now. Personally, I preferred it before the transformation, but nobody asked me and opinions are a dime a dozen.
