13:48 that has less to do with the engine as it does with the transmission. MG2 (the main drive motor) is HARD LOCKED to the wheels. Thus, the 109-mph limit is there to keep MG2 from spinning itself to pieces. MG2 has quite a bit of torque - the 3rd gen Prius has 402 (?) lb-ft at 0rpm (though it drops off RAPIDLY as speed increases, which is why it won't simply shred the front tires off)

the great part about this car is that its a toyota hybrid system so it will last forever
