This video has genuinely inspired me to consider getting this machine in the future. It's so well-crafted and thoughtfully designed. As a software engineer myself, my heart leaps with joy when I see a product like this. Kudos to Decent Espresso for such an outstanding job.

Yea, it sounds like this is the machine for you. Hopefully soon in the club 😉

I received mine last week (you’re almost up to 10K machines, I’m guessing). I made something decent on the third try. That third try was the third espresso I’ve ever made. I’m even more stoked after watching this video. The ultimate tinkerer’s machine that can also make espresso a few minutes after it’s turned on. As simple or complex as you want. Love the passion you guys have. Keep it up!

My situation doesn't allow me to financially afford such a machine, but I'm always following you guys to admire your engineering and processes... and hopefully one day it will be time to get one. This, your transparency, the repairability, and your great customer support, is a combination that's very hard to find across many sectors. Keep this up :)

Absolutely awesome engineering and build quality. As a hobbyist DIY maker I can only imagine the years of hard work and many thousands of hours of R&D and prototyping required to get the machine to this level. Thank you for sharing!

Blimey. What a beautifully engineered machine. The inside of my Italian machine is a rats nest of wires and tubes by comparison!

Excellent video. It’s good to see someone that takes pride in what they have designed and manufactured. As well as, all the intricacies involved in making sure a product works.

Closing in on four years owning a Decent with one tablet replacement due to battery swelling. I also installed an improved group head. I've always used bottled water and have never descaled and I'm not really good at cleaning other than a wipe down. Personally, I believe people get overwrought over water quality. You know the type, water recipes and all. They're also the same ones who have a refrigerator full of tubes of coffee beans. Good grief, it's only a cup of coffee. I've used bottled water exclusively and I've been using the same coffee blend from my roaster for over three years. What this machine has done for me is answer all those questions I had about espresso coffee. I've gone the light roast path for awhile and tried multiple single origin coffee from various parts of the world. Nowadays, it's an Americano with a modified blooming espresso recipe in a huge bamboo cup. Not into milk drinks! My steam wand has barely been used. Me having a Decent Espresso machine is akin to white walls on a garbage truck. Yup, experimenting done, I know what I want. Thank you John, you remain a unique breath of fresh air in this cut throat business world. Tesla would be my #2! Just went food shopping tonight with FSD taking me all around town. They gave me another free month!

All the water piping is solid Teflon. Isn’t Teflon a forever chemical? Any health concerns? I’m about to buy one but would like clarity on this question first. Thanks.

Given how much information you shared about your machine (in this video but also before), and given the many good ideas you put in it (precise control, heat as little mass as possible), I am still wondering why we don't see a cheaper clone on the market yet. Any idea? :) In any case, thanks for sharing, for me it's probably your most interesting video. PS: "Free Arthas" (RTOS) gave me a good laugh :)

I love it! How does it hold up against ratteling. I would love to use it in my Caravan/Van but I am afraid it might brake due to the constant shaking.

Not using brass is great. I wish i could afford one. also omg that handle. this seems like a machine made by proper engineers :D Tho I don't get why it uses a full tablet with a battery to control things!

I have a question from overseas, Israel does not import these machines, and I am afraid of that, what happens in the event of a malfunction and there is no service in Israel, and if there a possibility of you remotely taking control of the machine for the purposes of updating, repairing, etc.
