I did a lot of research and reading on how I should break in my bike after I rebuilt the top end. Based on my research I followed Motoman's procedure with some tweaks to that.

I know this process can be somewhat controversial. With that, what are your thoughts? What would you do different or what would you do on top of what I showed here?

Sounds like a proper break-in to me. Personally I think the key is the hot-cold cycles. Running it for 15-20 minutes and letting it cool down completely; repeating this a few times seems to work well. Thanks for the video.

Love it . Good job on the top end . In my experience it’s the first hour running the most worrying time ,if something was wrong. But that’s sounds sweet

I would have swore the auto decompression failed and caused it to lose compression. Do a stage 2 Hot cam, and cut the top of the air box open. Then jet the carb.

As much as this has been a part of engine building/rebuilding for at least a Century, I 100% assure you that HONDA does not do any kind of "Break In" at the factory. In fact, the brand-new bikes are all put on dynos and run quickly through a series of tests to ensure all shifting, oil pressure, speed, power, temperature, and charging, are achieved within specifications. Then the oil is drained and it moves on to shipping/boxing. So if HONDA doesn't do it, why do we all think we need to?
@chiliboom6140
@chiliboom6140 3 ай бұрын
I’m gonna assume, only my thought on this, if it needed to be redone when he had it, perhaps it may have gone longer before needing that of Honda did do a break in. But I have no idea, that’s just my assumption.
