Everyone says the Dodge first gen frames are weak anyway so its for certain a death trap now. LOL I like my over under turbo setup better as I think its cleaner but man fitting that baby in is a chore! It probably makes about 400hp with the current injectors in it but the fact it won't crack 1100F egt and burns crystal clean is awesome.
@decentgarage4 ай бұрын
I know I'm going to have a lot more tuning to do but after this event I'll dial it in for driveability. Over under does look clean but I've heard it's a pain to get them in. Thanks Brian!

@bcbloc02 Brian, what a nice surprise to find you here. I enjoy your channel with all the machinist content. Yes, very familiar with your Cummins swapped Dodge Crew Cab too. BTW, haven't seen a video upload from Steve in several months. Hope he is well. Im going to Arnfest at last weekend of Sept. Will see K. Rucker there also. Take care. Carl - West Michigan

Not sure why every one claimes that I’ve got a rust 1st gen wrecker and it will pick the front wheels off the ground with real heavy trucks and the frame is thine in some spots and hasn’t flinched. I think there really well built
@shmes94 ай бұрын
The 6 in frame is totally different than the 8in frame
@bcbloc024 ай бұрын
@@shmes9 My crew cab has the shorter frame and yet still has had 0 issues even when I hauled 6000lbs in the bed. The people that say the Dodge frames are weak really don’t know what they are talking about. That being said most people don’t realize there were about 24 different frames for the first gen trucks. Obviously some are heavier and stronger than others.

Great video. Can’t wait to see how it performs! On a side note, off topic. I just finished a hydroboost conversion on my truck, I followed a thread from one of the guys. Used a pick n pull 1 ton van booster. Amazing the difference. Just thinking you might need some more whoa, with the new go.
@decentgarage4 ай бұрын
Absolutely! I've gotta do the rear axle and suspension on the OG and then it'll be time for hydro boost. I already have everything for it

Black bedliner coating on the topper. Ever considered Cerakote on your turbos?

Yeah, I'll probably put most everything this fall and get stuff cerakoted/powder coated

I have compounds on my 12v what a world of difference it makes just much better to drive and tow with. I just installed dynomite diesel stage 3 injectors in it that made a huge difference to.

I switched to Stage 8 locking manifold bolts. Well worth the money. I also have a stainless manifold.

I totally didn't even think about running the stage 8 locking ones!
@mutantryeff4 ай бұрын
@@decentgarage Absolutely the solution. It will be difficult to install now that the turbos are mounted. I had to grind a little of my stainless steel manifold to get them to all fit properly.

I have a premium fiberglass Leer topper on my 2006 Stretched Dodge Ram Mega Cab 2500 5.9L Cummins 4x4 Laramie. The truck was stretched by Custom Solutionz in Salt Lake City. I do not like the tall toppers. Just the streamline toppers that form to the truck's roofline. I also have a Bed Rug in the 8ft bed.

Oh boy, a megacab long bed is on my bucket list.

Black shell then black roof and hood, top of bed height to top edge of fenders. I like the steel shells, Gem Top or Caravan Camper. Compounds are on my wish list but need a better transmission first.

You 12v and early 24v non comon rail guys make me laugh when compound charging an only rub run one oul return. There are 2 drain ports on those blocks use them. Infact cummins makes 2 lengths of return pipes to go along with it to boot.b

Storm blocks have 2 drains, finding a 12v storm block is rare so the vast majority of 12v's do not have the 2nd drain port cast into the block.
