Tbh, Goertzel is an unsung hero of AI development and our progression towards the singularity.
@squamish42445 жыл бұрын
He's remarkably grounded for the kind of savant and dreamer that he is. I trust him more than two of the other researchers who function as public faces of AI, Ray Kurzweil and Demis Hassabis. Kurzweil, at 71 years old, seems more disconnected from his humanity and freaked out by his mortality, which distorts his thinking. Hassabis doesn't seem nearly as interested in issues of control and decentralization. Neither seem that interested in coding morality, compassion etc. Meanwhile, Goertzel works with Buddhist meditators on coding and the refinement of his robot 'Sophia'. So yeah, among the current crop of 'faces of AI research', I would pick him.

5 days ago in an AI seminar at my university I had a really really great heureka moment. For me it was THE breakthrough idea 1) to fulfill my wish to do something good for society and 2) have a flourishing business. What if I make an AI that’s open source and decentralised through the blockchain. I could earn money through fees for the access to the very blockchain while at the same time taking away the power of mega corporations. I could specialize this AI in optimizing supply chains for efficiency and sustainability. Hence doing something good for economy and environment. Now I had to learn that such things already exist? What should I do now? Can I help? Or should I start again with searching for some good start-up ideas/project ideas?
