You should try them on a emulator. These are great games. The first one is eh though. Since you can only place 1 trap at a time.

@@Slayer-cd8gc Is the first game connected to the others in any way? I just played through Trapt for the first time and then i got interested on the ps1 titles, but the first game looks pretty slow and uninteresting, I'm probably gotta skip it.

When you reach the last one on PS3-4 don't forget to play the expansion! The main game is called Blood Ties The expansion is called Nightmare Princess The PS4 edition has them both!

Yeah, I picked up the PS4 version, so I've got the DLC. I didn't even know there was a PS4 version until I saw it in the wild, and then I wasn't too sure if it was both the game and the DLC or a physical release of the DLC thanks to the naming of it, actually. Picked it up when I realized they just stuck the DLC name to a release that's both. Looking forward to playing it in the future.

You don't get blood ties trophies though. Only nightmare princess trophies which sucks. If you do all 100 missions for story no trophies, but the costumes are pretty cool.

This is the best one. The runes you get to equip to your traps. Changing elements and diffrent things. I have the disc's for Kagero and delusions. I lost the cases since I was so young when I got them, but I got the discs in my binder.

Really enjoying this look at the Deception series. I can't recall why I never played this when it was released but it was likely just one of those games that slipped by me despite my enjoyment of 1 and 2. Oh and don't forget, for the full Deception series experience you'll have to check out Warriors All-Stars to play as Millennia and Laegrinna!

My favourite of the og trilogy. I Got 100% in this game and more hours that I could ever possilbe invest in another game now-days. Gotta check the other 2 (Not counting Blood Ties) since I have them both, but not the time. Again, great review, thanks to throw me back 20 years in the past! What a trip!

So far my favorite Deception, though Trapt is pretty good too but more simplified. I remember some of the room traps being very gruesome when used, which is good fun to watch. One day I'll get to my copy of 4 myself but the increased focus on the "puzzle" and goofy side of the game has me less interested to jump into than previous entries. Thank you for shedding a bit more light to non-fans on what I consider to be a mysteriously underrated series.

The problem with deception 3 is the fewer seconds of dialogues you have to read before it begins to move forward with another dialogue, then to the multiple choice options. Anyways , these emulators are a game changer when it comes to a wide variety of roms to chose from , I haven't experienced the PS1 era until 2021 using a PS1 emulator for mobile to play these different genre of games.

Wow Deception IV? Thought this game was dead and was searching for a reason. I played the first Tecmo's Deception and I would say it was one of the best games on PS1 for me. The third one, I tried to play it on an emulator but didn't feel the same vibe and felt dull for some reason, which probably was the third person view and floors.

Just an update after 2 years. What ended up happening, apple allowed emulators on the ipad. One of the first games I played was Kagero 2 and the controls felt so good on the ipad, mainly because it was on screen controls. I finished the game and was stuck playing it non-stop, even completed it for my birthday, 2 weeks ago. I also finished this third one, but this didn't have as good of a story and for some reason also again didn't feel it was as great as the 2nd one. So because of the controls, I replayed and enjoyed this game. Probably first and 2nd one were the best of all series.

If I develop a sadist fetish due to this franchise's quality I lay most of the blame to you. Wonder how it was to play the 4th one for you though, as far as I have seen it's basically what you'd get with 3's gameplay improved upon and with a bit more thought to put into the tools in your arsenal, except it has a more "goofy" and slightly lewd aspect to it, it kinda reminds me of Dead Rising's vibe with the serious stuff in the narrative portions while having "wacky" things in the more gameplay involved elements (I also wanna say the Yakuza games but uh... These still keep things relatively grounded) I wouldn't be suprised if the ps3/4/vita Deception game use common tropes from animes and such but hey I don't even have the money for consistently supporting your work so I won't be best person to have an opinion about it, hopefully you'll have fun on these games just like the ps1 ones (totally not awkward to say out loud).

If you actually figured out the best trap combination like I do, health bar wouldn't be an issue. They wouldn't even get near me. And even if they do, they are already in bloody mess, lol. My strategy is make the best combination of personal traps and room traps. My favorite area is the dungeon with how versatile the spiked coffin is. If ever they survived my best combinations, I just run to the next room and repeat process. - Thieves and ninjas are immune to launch floors, but very vurnerable to bear traps and vacuum floors. I suggest summon ring infused bear trap and upgrade your arrow slit against them. - Death Knight and sages are immune to summon ring infused traps but vurnerable to anything else. - Golem and Titan can negate fall rocks and push walls but also vurnerable when knocked down or distracted by other traps. - Armored units are immune to arrows but vurnerable to anything else - You just basically need to avoid Mages special elemental attributes.

The reason the king didn't murder Reina was obvious. He wanted to rape her. He even orders to bring her back alive. If Reina gets killed, you can see a disturbing scene where she is laying dead on a bed and the king walks in.

As a fan of the Dark Delusion I think that storywise alot were not took into consideration in this video. You must be able to play it religiously and unlock all the choices of where the story goes and the different endings in order to entirely understand the whole story. Every turn and choice was a total tragedy and her character was not the focal point of the story but the people that comes near to her life putting them in danger. This game is one of the greatest masterpiece of the PS1 era!
