Nick's probably like how I was with booze. I'll start out limiting myself with only one drink as a celebration, then I'll have one a few days later. Then it'll start becoming a normal, nightly routine until I'm back where I first started. I will never start drinking ever again, that's just how my mind works. It's a bad habit that can kill you.

I’m not an addict but that seems like a really sad part about recovering addicts. Whether it’s drinking or drugs they can all be done in the right amount and really make your life better and more enjoyable, but addicts can never reach that balance as you said, whether it’s brain chemistry or human behaviour patterns or whatever who knows. The shame of it too is tough I imagine, if you’re having a drink at a celebration and somebody is like oh you’re drinking again? Not even in a judgmental way but being reminded that you’re no longer sober must suck
