One of the devs here; There's so many comments down here I want to respond to, but I can't get to them all, apologies if I miss someone that really wants to hear from us. Thanks for all the feedback on everything! All the warm comments after years of work are great to hear. Talking to characters and hearing stories of the world and the Dust Bowl gives a lot of narrative, but we did our best to make it optional so people could just jump right into the game without pushing our lore down people's throats and those that wanted could seek it out throughout the game's interactions and item descriptions. Almost everything you mentioned in the video has a direct response in those backstories, and we have over a hundred of them in the game. At 11:58 you actually recruit another member of the dev team, he translated out game into American Spanish, wrote several character background stories and helped general storyboarding. He actually helped a lot (to me, at least) with the initial world building for areas like Stonedale and Blockpost. The dog you got at a later point is actually named like his real dog was as well (Chowder)! Then the Mercenary at 21:40 is me, actually. I go by Patrick, and I'm technically in the game twice under the name "Patrick Thompson" as well. Each name in the game was carefully selected to provide a decently realistic distribution of names you'd actually see in the world we built, but we also have a bunch of fan names in there - their real ones or their usernames. There's a certain type Mercenary that's possible to encounter named something along the lines of "Von Waffle" and that was honestly my favorite fan name that made it into the final product. This was a really nice watch! Thanks for reviewing our game, and thanks for the new game recommendation I'll check out. Love me that Zombie genre. EDIT: I'm glad to know everyone likes Dick Chains. I thought it was quality too.

Decision was one of the best Flash game ever along with the likes of Last Stand, Warfare 1944, Mud & Blood 3, Swords & Souls, Shop Empire, Theme Hotel, Feudalism 3, Kingdom Rush and of course my favorite Caravaneer 2. Flash games were amazing.

I feel the same way! I remember, as a teen, having my mind blown by Last Stand: Union City, I played the hell out of it. Now seeing these flash games becoming full 3D, high production value full-fledged videogames feels honestly surreal lol

@@ReconMDFK Modern game engines are the main reason for it :-) Try to play around in Unreal Engine 5 or Unity - you could create a simple "game" after just a few hours!

YES! Just 2 days ago I talked to someone about old flash games, and we both shed a tear of nostalgia. Of my favourite games that I brought up Decision 1, 2 and Medieval of course were among them. Rebuild I have on steam for years. Creeper World of course has long since been on steam. And now finally Decision is on Steam as well! I would only skip through the video and immediately get the game if it was out already, but sadly I have to wait one more week...

Everyone in this game is a gentleman, Splatty waits for zombies to get up before hitting them again if they get knocked down, and zombies wait for Splatty if he gets knocked down. And then there's Jorge, who kicked a dog laying on the ground.

I always really appreciate when games get guard/townfolk/ally AI aggro right. as in, they will aggro to enemies attacking you and other allies as quickly and aggressively as they do to you if you so much as scuff someone's jordans

Oof, blast from the past. Looks way different from the old flash games, less arcadey... I hope they still have those powerful late-game options though, that was half the fun of the older titles, and maybe they could up the pace of movement and combat too. When splat got stunlocked it really highlighted how much slower the character is to get up when knocked down.

I played all the Decision games on Kongregate years ago so this one definitely has my attention. One thing I'm curious about: if you upgrade your bases enough, do they ever become completely self-sufficient? Because if I have 5 bases and I have to keep gathering food and ammo for all of them on a daily basis that would be really annoying. Other than concerns about resource consumption it looks pretty great though.
