One thing I have noticed while following a number of KZbinrs (social media in general) is that people (mostly women!) can be so darn critical in a catty, snarky way. It’s borderline pure meanness, not constructive at all. I suppose we all knew ‘those’ girls in school. One thing about being 70…we’ve learned to let those things roll off our backs. Who gives a flying fajita what they think? 😉I agree that you should probably move into the halfway house. Your needs are for one, theirs are for 3. Thinking of them first will mean a lot.

Our house is going up for sale here in Virginia in March...do we have any idea where in Washington state that we're moving to that's not insanely expensive????? No. We do not...oh and plus we have two kittens, just to throw that in lol My husband wants to move closer to his family after his heart problems...I get that. I really do. However, we just moved from there almost 4 years ago...oh & I'm 65, this will NOT be a walk in the park!!! I just take deep breaths and baby steps...that's all we can do, am I right??!! I just moved from Seattle, WA to NC (3,000+ mile move) with 5 dogs and 2 young grandson's in tow. It was an adventure, to say the least. And, I'm almost 60 years old. Moving is not easy when we get older.

I'm a new, almost 69 year old subscriber from Sandston, VA (just outside of Richmond, VA). Frigid here today/tonight so I hibernated today and binge watched every one of your videos ! You are amazing and can definitely do donuts around me. I have 2 arthritic knees that need replacing so I move at my own pace. I retired 8/11/23 from RIC Airport and am blessed to have been able to do so ! I was widowed at 49 after 29 yrs of marriage to the love of my life who passed from heart disease as a result of diabetes. It was a long hard road and never imagined retiring. But my only child constantly pushed me until he said "Mama, set a date and stick to it !". The first date was scratched because my washer died and I wanted to enter retirement debt free. I set the second date and paid everything off including the new washer AND dryer and met my goal date. Now living the life ! I started watching your channel this morning because one of your videos fell into my feed and your Gorgeous hair and makeup caught my eye ! I'm now hooked on Margaret Being Margaret as I get used to the first real chapter of Debbie being Debbie. You're an inspiration ❣️

I would choose to move into the house that is being renovated and then you can keep an eye on what’s going on there. I know you will go to the other house to baby sit but I don’t think a baby should be amongst the building dust and by the time you get home it will have settled for the day. B.

As someone who just went through a kitchen remodel, I'm not sure if anyone wants to live in the house being renovated. We weren't living in the house at the time, but we came to check on progress and clean up on the weekends. I had forgotten how the plaster dust (and plain old dirt) can sift through every doggone nook and crannie. And a person thinks the mess will be limited to a certain area, but the workers have to access plumbing and electrical, not to mention that they often track through the entire house with their boots. Some of them used our bathrooms, also, and that's understandable, but those areas would need to be cleaned up every doggone day, when the family got home. I'm not trying to be critical of our workers. They did a beautiful job, but I'm just being honest. No doubt, the baby is everyone's main concern. As some others have said, I'd try to encourage your son and his wife to make the decision. Margaret, I love your hair, and I only wish I could cut my own and make it look like yours! What is wrong with people?? I don't even understand the "Woe..." comment.

One thing to consider are the moving costs and if you feel comfortable discussing that with your son and daughter-in-love!❤ How much to move once and how much to move twice! I moved recently, and I was very uninformed! First for your sofa or anything that you don't want to get wet, rain, snow or dirt, I wish I would have put an old bedsheet covering it and in the contract with the movers, wrap the sofa, etc with plastic wrap that they use! Second, is, because they scatched 90% of my stuff, read the contract to see if you can buy extra insurance! I wish I would have as they only pay .06 cents per pound!😢 Because this huge moving company did me wrong and never asked, my loose pillows for my sofa was dragged, and the pipping ripped off of the 2 pillows that formed the back of the sofa! Thankfully, I had purchased extra material for that sofa and had planned to sew a dog mat so my puppy could lay there on the sofa and keep my sofa clean! Third, take pictures of your stuff before the movers come in so that if you need to make a claim, you can provide proof! Whew! I feltl that I would share that with you, and maybe you have done the research! I hope that I helped! You are doing great, Margaret, and your hair is beautiful! ✝️🙏❤️

I enjoyed listening about you selling your home. We just sold ours about 3 months ago that we'd lived in for 33 yrs. It was in a desirable area. We specifically listed it AS IS and we listed the price under what others were going for fully remodeled. The first person who saw it could see the possibilties the rest were so negative i had to quit reading. We ended up selling to the first at full asking price after 3 days on the market! What did the realtors tell those who had such scathing remarks. It was listed "as is". I belive we had divine favor😊 After all the work you've done I hope you get a decent price.

Your friend did a wonderful job staging the house. Just a few little touches made a big difference. I think your daughter-in-law may have the right idea with the housing arrangements. It's all only temporary after all. But construction dust will seep through even closed doors and settle on furniture. It's not good for the baby. I do understand how you're kinda between a rock and a hard place with that decision. Of course, you want them to get settled in their new home but if the baby's momma is concerned, I understand that as well. It's hard to go without a kitchen when you have a little one. Not to mention, it probably would save you some money on moving costs since you won't have to truck your belongings twice. I had a very enjoyable morning. I went with the bride and her momma for a bridal gown shopping appointment. What fun! She chose the 2nd dress she tried on and it's a perfect fit and beautiful. She wasn't keen on the idea of a veil but once she had one on her head, she changed her mind. I like the perfect fit part since that means I don't have to do any alterations. Wedding gown alterations can be daunting. I'm up for the task, but nevertheless happy alterations aren't necessary. Now I'm in my jammies and snuggled under a blanket trying to thaw out my toes. Brrrr. It's cold here too with wind chills in the negative range. The temps are supposed to rise and be above 40 by the middle of the week. That makes me happy. I always refer to my daughter in law as my daughter-in-love because I feel like it’s more accurate of my true feelings. Hassock, ottoman, foot stool. They’re all the same to me except when we leave our dog alone too long. At that point, it’s called trashed. How did anyone arrive at the conclusion that your videos are mostly from a woe is me standpoint?! If I felt that way, I wouldn’t be checking twice a day to see if there’s a new video up! Margaret, your hair style frames your face nicely and looks great on you! Well... who owned a salon for over 30 years?! I'd say you must know a thing or two about hair. As for the move... How kind of them to offer you a choice. I do think it’d be best for them to move to their new house. Hard decisions for you to make - but if it were me, I would move into the halfway house. They need the extra room. I do think that you all need to keep in mind how much longer than quoted any type of building usually takes - so it might be longer that 6 months. You are definitely not a "woe is me" person. Not sure how anyone would think that. Your place looks good - nice little tweaks. Stay warm - keep the heating on! I remember a few years back when we used to get colder winters, we would leave a trickle of water running from the kitchen faucet to stop the pipes from freezing - glad we haven't had to do that recently!

Oh Margaret, absolutely you should go to the “ Half Way House”. The construction will surely be going on while they are at work? I thought it was cold here in Oklahoma, it’s like 25 here and we are under a winter storm warning. We have had a bit of snow. If it’s going to be soo cold, I would love for it to snow. Your House looks so pretty, buttttt: I’m sorry, but that baskets gotta go. It’s horrible. Sure doesn’t go with the rest of the decor she staged it with. 😅😊. We have had rental properties for over 40 years and have been selling off, down to only a couple but we have found by asking renter kindly to please make their place showable. maybe🎉 a few suggestions, we have always done in a nice way. We found mostly all complied Also you will want to make sure if the renter is there when a showing, they don’t say negative things. I know that is hard, we directly told renters to please be kind, sometimes we have even offered incentives. not a whole lot but maybe something because a renter can hurt a sale. BTW i am the wife as i always say when i comment. You are so sweet and best of luck, your house looks great and your friend did very nice with staging. ❤

Your home looks so nice, it won’t stay on the market for long. You have a wonderful location, great neighbors, house has been well maintained and the buyer can just move in and hang their clothes in the closet. The way you described the conversation with your daughter in law, it sounds like she was not looking forward to living through a renovation (especially a kitchen), and would prefer to move in when all that is completed. It may also be that she would like some extra time to sort through her house and not do that in a rush. If it were me, I’d let them be the ones to make that decision, as you’re good either way. Hope all goes well with the sale of both houses, and I’ve never gotten the impression that you are a “woe is me” type person. Quite the contrary, I would describe you as a person who pulls up her bootstraps and gets things done! Wish I had half the gumption you have!

Margaret,I think the best thing to do is ask your daughter in law what she wants to do and see if that suits you.She’s obviously been doing some thinking to have put the proposal to you. I don’t think your a woe is me person. I think it’s a real treat when you do a vlog and you’re the kind of person who will never lack a friend because of your lovely nature.I think sometimes when your being introspective people think your being sad ,but your not,you have a laugh at yourself.I think you know yourself quite well and are quite happy with who you are .. Staging homes is a joke. If you are in a good selling market and you have a messy (not dirty) home… it’ll still sell. My sister bought one of those “messy” homes . We cleaned it and voila 😊 it’s beautiful. When I sold our house I didn’t take down one personal picture. We had buyers competing for our home. I’m in Canada… maybe different here. Just saying 🤷‍♀️❤️😊

Hello! I think it would be better for them to stay at the little house, because I think it would be best for the baby, until their big home is completed, and you should move to the large home, so that you don’t have to move and pack up twice. Your son and daughter have been in the small home this long, I think another 6-10 month’s longer isn’t going to make that much of a difference. Good luck in whatever you decide 😉

Your house looks great, I haven’t heard the word hassock for probably 50 years, we call it an ottoman here in California or at least I do. I think it might’ve been my grandmother or my aunt that called it a hassock. That’s kind of in the era of bureau and chifforobe and divan and Davenport and all those old-fashioned words, it’s kinda cute to hear, kind of brought back a memory. You are definitely not woe is me, that’s how ❤I found your channel. I found you in the comments of someone who is quite maudlin, I can’t hardly stand to watch her anymore because of it, you probably know who I mean. I wonder if that’s the channel that person in your comments was talking about. Occasionally I’ll watch her but it’s too sappy for me. You’re so down to earth and go getter. As far as the move I would let Mike and Nikki pick.

How can anybody say you are woe is me. I think you are a delight. I have watched a lot of videos of women talking about their depression and all the things they have to go through and blah blah blah and when I come on here I want to be entertained so to speak. I think you have a wonderful attitude. And you’re funny and just a delight to listen to, so poo poo on all those who are so critical. You know the old saying misery loves company and I think that’s what’s wrong with them. You need to do whatever they feel is the best thing for them and especially the baby. You are flexible and I can tell by the way you speak that you really want what’s best for them. So let them make the decision, since you are good with it no matter which way it is. I would also love to be able to sit and talk to someone over tea even if it’s on the Internet, FaceTime, etc. I have a penpal, but it’s strictly a writing pen pal and I enjoy doing it but I hate writing. Anyway, I think maybe you started something so it’s probably rude of me to ask you to mention that I live here in Savannah Georgia and if somebody would like to be my Internet penpal I would love it.

Personally, I would never buy a home that I couldn't see the upstairs flat in person and not seeing pics in the ad. Can you give your tenant a month's notice to leave and get it ship shape for at least empty photos?

Everyone can get into the upstairs apartment to see it, it just wouldn’t photograph well. I Am selling the house with the tenant occupied, it would be a nightmare to try to have her leave and could hold up a sale for MONTHS!

Hi Margaret There are many trolls on line who want to be mean. I once commented on a video and someone said I was a horrible mom ( I am anything but) ignore the ignorant cruel people that have nothing better to do. Hard decision maybe you can split the time at the other houses depending on what stage the remodeling is at. Stay warm . I cut it myself and a stylist wouldn’t do it. It’s completely disconnected. The sides are 2 inches, the top is 6 inches and it’s not blended. Thanks for posting!

Just an opinion but I think Niki is likely dreading living thru a renovation…I would too, you would be doing them a great favour living in the ranch while the renovation is on going and travelling to the quiet small house to babysit etc.
