This format is much better than the kind of "Guncam" footage we see from other folks. Learning to shoot well once you have an advantage is not necessarily easy, but learning to get into the advantageous position is the more difficult skill.

I know it's a slow looked down upon airplane, but you should do one of these in the LAGG-3. I have poo-pooed that aircraft my entire IL career after only flying it once. However, I took it out again recently to test my skills to see where I stood in my piloting progression and I really enjoyed it. I kept the energy up and capitalized on my newly developed skills. I ended up with a kill and managed to limp the bird home after losing most of an aileron. While not the best plane it made me dig into my box of skills to make it the best flying experience. I'd love to see you visit the unloved Lagg-3.

Reviving a old series of mine where I basically talk along the gameplay, and comment on my decision making. It was requested a couple of times, so I try to make them more often when its received well. btw I recently upgraded my GPU from a GTX 1660 to a RTX 3070 . I raised the quality settings quite a bit. Enabling SSAO, ultra shadows and extreme clouds. I think it shows.

I just discovered the Decisions in the Making series and it's a HUGE help! After watching these, l went back and rewatched your How To XX videos. So now I'm learning the "why's". Please continue this series. You might think you've covered everything, but people like me often learn things from small details or just your passing thoughts in the narative.

I love these videos - the kind of practical, field study lessons that make a real difference in real-world fights compared to generic classroom do's and don'ts. Also, "... but after I'm sure the contrail dude just keeps trucking... " - American slang with a German accent. Brilliant! lol

Hi 👋 Sheriff at 3-15 bang on(with what you have explained) I'm no experten nor do I have the ability to even play il2 yet however on war thunder sim using my ps4 (don't judge i know its not nearly the sim that il2 is) i noticed myself greed and loss of the awareness after an initial high speed high angle attack on a lower plane will give you issues when trying to A. Re engage in the fight or B. Extend and gain a better position to re engage even with squad mates present if in the climb to eagerly after the initial pass you are very vulnerable and generally show a massive cross section to be targeted in a nutshell so many variables will determine the outcome of an engagement however like this video (so far) taking the right precautions and keeping your head on whats around do limit the chances of being downed,,,,resuming the rest of the video now and thank you for the great content 😀.

Excellent. Really appreciate the time you put into these and your explanations as you fly. I could watch one of these every day ! Really highlights how much harder it is to fly solo too. Thank you again. Best to you for a Merry Christmas.

The image quality is great! Looks like the GPU upgrade was worth it. I really enjoyed you talking along with your decision making. Very helpful for sure! I like the idea of you mentioning the strengths and weaknesses of the plane you're in vs the planes you're IDing. Combat skill aside, that information I only really learned through experience.

I have a question about my track it 5. For some reason I have like a sticky lock in the center of the screen like it when I turn my head from the right to the left when ever it passes over the middle it locks into it, it takes extra head movement bro realese it from that lock. I've tried following all the tutorials on how to make the track it 5 smooth and how to remove deadzone by lifting the dots from 0. I even checked if the green dots are turning red at certain positions and it turns out they are just fine. Idk how to remove that lock do you have any tips you could tell me
@SheriffsSimShack4 жыл бұрын
I like to have that "sticky" area around the gunsight, because without it its sometimes hard to "find" the sight in a fight. Make sure that you remove the deadzone on all axis if you really want to remove it. Also make sure that the correct profile gets loaded for IL-2
@warroach4 жыл бұрын
@@SheriffsSimShack thanks for your response, I found the solution apparently the track ir 5 works weird if you download it in a different hard drive than in the same one that il-2 is in. So when ever I made changes it wouldn't work and apply it for the game but I just fixed it by putting both in the same hardrive. I'm just saying this for Incase another person has this problem. And keep up the great content 💪👍 I love it

I'm not sure if you've talked about this, but I was wondering what your take is on VR in IL-2. It's been implemented for a couple years now, and now that there's higher resolution VR options, you think it is a viable contender with TrackIR?

I am a recent subscriber, but noticed immediately that your flying style and decision making reminded me strongly of Herr Hartmann. Is this my imagination, a coincidence, or a conscious choice of style on your part? Thanks.
@SheriffsSimShack4 жыл бұрын
When learning how to survive and to be successful in virtual air combat, sooner or later you ask yourself how to minimize the time you focus on one target and the time you can't check your surroundings. For that you have to shoot down an enemy quickly and to be less exposed when approaching. To shoot down an enemy quickly you have to be close to maximize effect on target and to be safe you need to be rather fast. So its no surprise that you end up with similar approaches the aces used. And Hartmann was not the only one, but the most successful (or the one with the most opportunities) But if you read about Johnson, Bong, McGuire Neel Kearby, Pokryshkin or others its pretty similar.
