I definitely understand the feeling of needing to take a break from a deck! Sometimes the vibe shifts and things just don't ping like they were and it's no fault of the deck, some are seasonal friends, others are for every dang day and some are even for an ever so brief sparkling moment in your life. All are valuable in the messages they have, but more importantly ultimately is the timing of those messages. It's a Wheel of Fortune year for me, so change and cycles seem to be at the front of my mind and it's the result of keeping things moving that is the catalyst of growth and evolution we're all after, so I think it's a great sign. I just had this experience with a deck I have been bonding with over the last month. I’m so glad it’s not just me! The last time I went to read with it I literally felt nothing, like it refused to answer me. We are on a break too but that deck will always be with me and I will always love it so I get where you are coming from. I love to hear about your progress with the Brady Tarot. Comfort with the major arcana is a big deal! You’ve inspired me to pull out my copy. But, as we're all learning, it allows another deck to get get a light shined on it. I SO love the Brady. It's I like anything I've ever seen and getting to know it is a true privilege. What a gorgeous deck and heck there are times I don't do my cards for a month. When I got my Tarot of the Owls in January and I finally pulled a card out on Sunday or Monday and got the Sun Card, LOL.

Decks falling flat happens to me on occasion, in fact, just recently. And I agree that taking a break, setting the deck out of rotation, helps greatly. I work with one Tarot and one Oracle a month & this seems to be a like a good amount of time, but I will extend that if things are going smashingly well. On the lighting: not sure, but having the contrast of back light from the window in the darker room may be affecting your light balance? Perhaps doing a couple short test runs in different spots? I sometimes have to record in a darker room, and when I changed it up to a room with more natural light, that made a notable difference. Just my two cents that you didn't ask for, and I am in no way an expert😆Wishing you the best on your travel and visiting adventures!

Just shy of two years ago the Maiden Oracle came into my life in an extremely powerful 'between worlds' manner that blew the lid off my existing sense of who I was/was not as medicine and magic maker. Once she arrived, a plant/flower I've known all my life became absolutely pivotal in brand new ways, and as her leaves have begun to push above ground over the past few days, I have been weighing whether or not I want to share parts of that story on my channel. Seems on brand for me that I chose to surf around tarot tube in large part to get out of my own head and think about something other than this specific deck of cards, but that's not what was meant to happen. You and I use decks in a similar way, but I usually pull a tarot card and use the Oracle card as a clarification. I've had your experience many times over the years and had to put a deck on vacation. I have a specific tarot deck that I use with each of the deities that I work with and even those need a vacation. I feel cards come into our lives just as people do. We learn from them, and they move on. We connect with them again at a later time when they have more to teach us. I recently got the Woodland Wardens deck and this one wants me to work with my ancestors, so another journey begins. Hope this helps.

Sometimes our decks are here for certain phases in our life while others are here for the long haul through everything. Or some are here for certain mindsets that pop up through out the year. The Mary El Tarot is like that for me. The medicine is no potent for me that I can’t use it everyday. Most of the time it’s in hibernation. I’m so happy you love the deck.
