The Keywords in the Simplicity Tarot drove me a little batty at first for the reason you mentioned. I’m making an assumption that maybe English was not the only language spoken by the creator. I make the assumption because my mother was Mexican and Spanish was her primary language, though she did become fluent in English. I came to love the way the keywords were written because they remind me of my mom and when I see them, it’s like she’s speaking to me. If the deck goes mass market, I think an editor will clean them up. But heck..English is my language and I have a hard time with it 😉. I recently added the Cosmic Tarot to my collection for nostalgic reasons. I love the depiction of the old movie stars and I especially love the dancers and Balanchine ballets depicted (Aftternoon of the Faun...sigh...I’m in heaven!). It brings me back to my teens and young adulthood as a professional dancer and I use it for some shadow work that I do for that time in my life. It’s funny how all of these decks impact us differently! The Cosmic Tarot is a weird and funky deck to most, but it’s becoming a personal favorite to me. And...I got it for only $11 on Amazon!

You are probably right about the keywords and I should have considered that because that makes sense. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. The keywords don't pull me away from the deck by any means, it's just something I always notice when I use it. I'll be curious to check them out when the mass market version is released. I do enjoy it and love the white space. I am happy to hear that the deck brings your mom into your heart. And yes to the old movie stars in the Cosmic Tarot. I thought Sean Connery was the King of Cups but he's actually in the King of Wands card that I showed. I just looked and there's a list of cards in the guidebook that are based on movie stars. I found that missing page BTW. How weird is it that it didn't separate with the multiple times I tried! Have you done a review? I'd love to hear you go through and discuss that. I also agree that every deck delivers something different to each user. That's what makes tarot so special. ❤️

@@tarotfortheheathens9556 You know, I filmed an unboxing a few weeks ago of the Cosmic Tarot and I couldn’t put it up. I hated how it turned out. This deck takes me back to a period when I was a young dancer and I was dealing with anorexia and weekly weigh-in’s before performances. But...it also reminds me of the happiness I felt being able to dance some great works of art. This deck is a very mixed bag for me. It has equal parts of light and shadow. I may re-film it at some point. I wish I had that OOP book!

@@oldsoulmermaid1543 I can understand the mixed emotions for sure. I was feeling it as I was going through my Egyptian Tarot when thoughts of my late sister came up. I had to edit out some of my feelings. So, perhaps another time you can plan the cards you'll show and put more of the positive ones in the mix to help with those feelings. ❤️

@@tarotfortheheathens9556 That’s a great idea 💡. I found the book on Amazon for $11! It’s also available on kindle for $3.99. I’m looking forward to delving into the book! I’m sorry about your sister. It’s really a remarkable occurrence how small things in life will draw us to our departed loved ones.

Hi Liz, I love your videos and I don't want them to end haha. I think you should stay with those that make you feel happy and give you good feelings, but think about it especially those that are indie decks and oop because they are more difficult to recover, it must be difficult to have so many beautiful decks and realize that neither you use, but it is only attachment, we must let go and better things will come, a hug for you 💟
@tarotfortheheathens95563 жыл бұрын
You are right, Ingrid. I'll be doing some serious gut checks because some of them are OOP. It IS only attachment and the goal is to be aware of that and to diminish it's hold. Thank you! ❤️

I’m loving your videos. You go in to great detail and you have beautiful decks. It would be such a challenge letting some go. 🌸🌞🍀

Thank you so much! It has been a challenge, but to one I'm committed. I am trying to be much more discerning about the decks I bring into my collection going forward. I've already declined backing a few decks because, although tempting, they haven't been ones I felt would stand out enough. I'm looking forward to completing this series so I can dive into creating interesting content with the decks I have. Thanks again and be well! ❤️

Hi Lizz! I'm at the same spot as you on the Path of Curation! Became interested in Tarot about a year or so ago and bought every deck I loved based on walk-throughs. We have nearly the exact same ones, including those mentioned but not shown! Fast-forward to now, some of them don't work so well for me. I've a vision impairment, so struggle with decks that are too busy, too shiny, or have massive foiling on the images. Not to mention deck sizes and shuffling issues. Still, there are a few I'll keep for the artwork alone. (Or just for shuffling - the cardstock is a dream but don't love the deck!) Spilled my drink at the mixed noun and adjective thing and varied font sizes! Being left-brained, this type of language and specs mis-match in any context throws the earth off its axis! Same response as yours on almost every deck. As always, you are so prepared and so thorough in your analysis, and you place links to everything below! Really appreciate the thoughtful touches you include such as re-capping the names of the decks before you move to the next segment. I'm headed back to catch up on your other videos, yours are so easy to watch! Thanks so much for taking time to share your process and collection with us!

Thank you for sharing Vada! We each have different reasons we love and keep the decks we have and it's up to each of us to decide when to keep and when to cull. Regarding the keywords, it was mentioned that it may be due to a language barrier which makes sense. I will be looking out for the mass market version to see if that will be corrected. I'm not sure, though, that even if it was if I would get rid of an indie version for it. We'll have to wait and see. ❤️ Hope you enjoy the other videos!

PS. I also agree with you on gratuitous over-sexualized images in decks!

Yeah, me too, but I'll allow it in this deck because of the overall fantasy feel. 🥰

I don't think the keywords are like that because the creator's native language might not be English. At least from the few cards you showed, it looked like the method was intentional. For some reason it worked better for them I guess. But of course, I don't know. Just a thought.

You may be right. It's definitely not a deal breaker for me about the deck, but is a quirk of mine. As I mentioned, those things stick out to me, but the deck reads extremely well and I like the imagery a lot. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. ❤️
