Deck Tech: Obeka Grixis Upkeep Tribal EDH / Commander

Why have just one upkeep trigger per turn when you can have multiple upkeeps per turn? Smash in with Obeka to double, triple, quadruple, quintuple, and far more of those words your upkeep steps for big drains and effects to kill your opponents in one big turn.

Unfortunately I don't think the double strike you refer to towards the latter half of your video is accurate. The first strike happens, then regular damage, then the additional upkeeps trigger after combat. I wish it worked that way. That'd be awesome, but I don't believe that's accurate.

Hmm either way double strike is good for multiple upkeep triggers, which is the end goal anyway

@poppmagic6793 also, strongly consider Bottomless Vault, Sand Silos, and Dwarven Hold. They've been errata'ed, and they're insane in this deck.

@UnivocalVision to me they are a bit awkward. Lands that enter tapped that then need a turn to be tapped before use for a payoff later isn’t idea. The deck needs fast mana really

@@poppmagic that's what EDH is all about! A proper tuned deck would account for targeted Obeka removal.

@@bloodwire0 yeah but there is only so much you can do. You can run shoes for protection and counter spells, but eventually you’ll have to tap out or someone will nuke and she’ll die. Very big glass cannon

My obeka runs a couple swords and darksteel plate and whispersilk cloak plus my deck is more group hug using master of feasts with sheoldred the apocalypse and consecrated sphinx for faster card draw and the locust god for chump blocking at worst and I would suggest an vensers journal for more life

@stalkerfire1487 that’s the tricky part of making these videos is because I generally make them with my playgroup in mind. We are pretty aggro, but play politics a lot. I think the changes you made are good, but didn’t choose them because of my own bias
