Deck Tech: Winter, Cynical Opportunist Golgari Delerium Reanimator EDH / Comander

Glad to see someone recognize both Invasion of Fiora and Portal to Phyrexia with Winter. Immediately pulled those two from my collection to upgrade this precon. Being able to reanimate any permanent is a super cool ability.

i feel like portal to phyrexia is a no brainer in the deck. Invasions are nice just to hit delerium faster and add asome moderately good utility

Nesting grounds is much better than just on a basic. You can just grave hate any other permanent on the field you don’t want your opponents to get back. “Oh you have a grave crawler? That’s staying dead…”

Thanks man I appreciate it! I’m actually making this list in paper right now. For your deck, I’d say it depends what you want to do. Meren is cool because she is hyper efficient at reanimating creatures. Winter is cool because he can reanimate anything, but at the loss of some cards. It depends what you want to bring back and what drawbacks you are okay with. Both are very good

@Yomolink I’d say meren is the better fit then. You kill off small guys like Sakura tribe elder and spore frog, get utility from cards like merciless executioner to then reanimate multiple times. Then late game you get back your big boys like titan of industry, sheoldred, etc

I have a karador deck that was my first but I recognize he’s hard to use because no cost reduction and reanimate 1 per ur turn Do u recommend putting winter into that deck or putting karador stuff into this ? I don’t mind either way. Just wanted ur thoughts.

Honestly they are just kinda different builds if you ask me. Karador exclusively cares about creatures and doesn’t care if they die because he can just cast them next turn. The issue with winter is they return with finality counters, so they are gone forever when they die. Honestly man if you want the best of both worlds, switch over to muldrotha so you can hit everything you want

@@poppmagic only problem is I’m kinda a guy who doesn’t want to use the same commanders u see often or just the main meta. Like my main deck is a Vish kal blood arbiter deck lol But thanks for the input I think I’ll lean with winter 🤔 Although with karador you can reanimate winter then an enchantment or land or instant with winter 🤔. Haha But love the channel I hope you get 1k

can i only bring cards back which i exiled in my round, or also last round? like i exile 4 types, but bring back a card which i exiled last round with my commander

No you can’t once you exile it as fodder for delirium, it’s gone. Luckily, you shouldn’t be losing too much since there are enchantment creatures and artifact lands, so in that case you would essentially only exile one card

So winter requires you exile 4 card types. Let’s say hypothetically, in the grave, you choose an artifact, an enchantment creature, and a land. You exile those three cards and since there were 4 card types, you can bring one back to the field. Say you bring back the enchantment creature, you lose the artifact and land essentially as the cost for the reanimation
