I'm an old school AD&D player. I remember the bliss of having a my first character, dice roles, abilities and so forth. I have a bunch of younger kiddos in the neighborhood as well as my own that are drawn to the screens. Which is ok, but, I love getting everyone four, five or six around the table, together. This is great for that, quick setup, on the go. Whether at the park, or in the car. We can game. I'm definitely gonna grab a few of these for stocking stuffers and then some. Thanks for the vid

I've noticed more and more games are using cards as dungeon tiles and making compact dungeon games. From this game, to One Deck dungeon, to One Deck Dungeon 2, Ravage Dungeons of Plunder, to Goblin Tower which has more of a dungeon that's stacked, to 100 Swords, and etc. I like these small travel friendly dungeon crawl games, they always bring a little something different. I did back this game so, I'm excited to try it out. I also noticed more games trying to replicate phone app games. Dungeon Boss The Board Game by Sandy Peterson, just canceled their take on the phone game. It looked really appealing but I read the comments to see what caused the initial fail. It seems as though, the game itself claims to be an epic dungeon crawler but, they didn't include the dungeon crawl aspect is what someone had mentioned. I too looked this over and then recapped on the campaign page and that person was correct. Phone apps use algorithms for certain aspects that table top games can't replicate. So the dungeon crawl feelt is something that can only be found in the app and not the table top version. The way they incorporated the crawling was via dungeon cards that didn't really allow players to crawl around in a dungeon, it was more or less left to the imagination. Over all I still liked the game and was willing to back as it based everything on simplicity which is always nice in any table top games. Then theirs games that use an app as a companion which is great but almost inconvenient in a way (for me at least). Almost every companion app causes most phones to over heat and freeze, or drain the hell out of the battery leaving players to barely play one small session. If games go more and more towards this direction, I almost feel it'll be something that was great in concept but will ultimately fail. Imagine all table top games coming out with companion apps that people have to install, space becomes limited and the phone will more than likely not be able to handle every companion app as some are very large in space and updates. The constant bugs fixes, potential crashes, the app only made for certain phones or iphones not androids and vice versa. Letting a game to almost rely on an app for it's main feature to function seems odd to me. The idea is combining phone game mechanics with table top games when the two should just be separate unless the app is a full version of the table top version. Then there's the additional content which is cheaper than the physical but still. There have been a few apps I would like to see as a table top game but I know the changes would be intense as certain aspects would not convert but the game still has enough potential to not require a companion app. Stormbound: Kingdom Wars would be good and Dice Hunter: Dicemancer Quest as well. These apps have room to explore beyond what it offers as an app in the table top world. Great video as always!

I just don't think I could buy a board game that required the app. I love boardgame apps, I hate boardgames that are apps....

Gene Lane they have print versions of all the scenarios on their website for free. The app is purely the set up. You should give Mansions of Madness a shot, it’s really cool

As mentioned there is a print version. But the only way to pack everything into that tiny box is to have this 15 campaigns on an app
