Always enjoy your content Bart. Looking forward to what creative things you come up with using the engraver. Thanks for posting.

Hi nice to be here as a newbie and you are as well with back making videos again, we know this machine the Deckel through some other videos. The machine does look like a great size. We bet this machine is going to clean up well and we are sure you are going to make it run really well. We it runs well, that is nice machine work you engraved in that (we think) brass plate. Thank you for the share, Lance & Patrick.
@bartharkemametalworks22995 жыл бұрын
Thanks. And yes it runs well on the brass plate. Need to try milling some steel / stainless in the future. I learned to use a Pantograph when I worked as a mechanic (around 10 years ago). The basics are there but this one has a lot more possibilities like the 3d contour milling.

It rains every time I pick up a machine too! 5 for 5 right now. Great video, I'm looking at getting one of these too.

Very interesting video, thank you. I have an Alexander version of the same machine which I'm using to make nameplates for miniature traction engines. I have had the templates made from laser cut Perspex but the first engraving I did was similar to your logo but I used the stylus to follow the lines of an enlarged photocopy at 10 to 1. It took 2 attempts but came out quite well. Brian (England)

@bartharkemametalworks22995 жыл бұрын
Ja dank je. Zeker veel opties. Heb je leuke suggesties?
@smitmachinale82815 жыл бұрын
@bartharkemametalworks22995 жыл бұрын
@smitmachinale82815 жыл бұрын
@bartharkemametalworks22995 жыл бұрын

I to just acquired a Deckel GK21, I haven’t any manual but from the looks like 1 to 1.5 is the lowest racial I really need a one to one ratio do you know if this is possible to achieve, how?
@bartharkemametalworks22994 жыл бұрын
With the GK21 it starts with 1.5. But if you mount the spindle on the other side of the phantograph arm you can enlarge 1.5 then make the die/shape and switch the spindle again to decrease size with 1,5. It takes an extra step and makes it also less accurate but if needed this may be a solution. I believe the larger Deckel KG12 Phantograph machines can do 1:1.

@LifeforArt3 жыл бұрын
Bitte Anleitung anschauen.

Great video! I see that we have a similar interest in machines :D I'm currently on a search for one of the Deckel pantographs, probably one of the GKs (KFs are too big and G1 or G2 a bit too small and I'd like to do 3D copying)

Hi Bart you could wood for your template's it's cheap and easy to get a good surface on it.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Most of the materials I use come from my local scrapyard so there not so expensive for me.

@bartharkemametalworks22995 жыл бұрын
Haha, yes. This is a little more hobby. But i'm not making serie products and this GK21 has some nice options for 3d engraving

hello Barts i have the same machine but i never have tried so do you have any manual user that you can share to handling it?
@bartharkemametalworks22995 жыл бұрын
I don't have a user manual, just some information you can find when you do a google search of these machines. I learned using a Pantograph when I worked as a mechanic. But the basics are simple so just try and learn as you go.

Hey man,great acquisition, i also got a Deckel GK21 that i bought in a broken state, basically the guy sold it to me as pile of pieces of metal in kg, he didn't know what a Pantograph is, so i bought it and i'm fixing it but there is some parts missing that i clearly need to machine in a machine shop but i need some specs that i didn't found on the manual user of the GK21, can i send you an email or something like that to get those specs ? I would really appreciate your help, thank's in advance

Hi Bart greetings from Brisbane Australia. I use to repair these. They are beautifully made machines. The spindles are easily repaired with new bearings. The bearings are Angular contact Magneto bearings, EN Series. Use only 10W oil in them. You should be able to get a book for it from Tony@lathes.co.uk. Hope this is of help.
