I'd go as far as to say that Maxx C is fair in the highest echelons of Meta, where two tier 0 decks are facing off with one another. But when it's lower tier deck versus a meta deck, it becomes very toxic.

The way people use Maxx C literally proves that it is over powered and toxic. People often just shotgun it during draw or standby phase. they don't even try and think about how to use it. they quite literally don't care if their opponent has hypothetical counterplay or ways to punish it. because counterplay is so ineffective and punishment for misplays so rare that it doesn't matter.

I like how some people scoop literally one step or attack before their inevitible demise. They already play Yugioh so why not minmax a little more anyway, wait a second and get some potential gems for participating? They literally just lost potential 25 gem drops (atleast i believe so) for no good reason which adds up very quickly.

When you lose, you usually don't get that many points towards end of game rewards. You're usually losing like, 1 legacy ticket, 1 random vanilla monster, or something close to maybe 5-8 gems on occasion. Even the battlepass progress is rather pitiful, even though that isnt really relevant. On average, you don't get anything that worthwhile for staying in a lost game.

If I respect the Deck, or felt the pilot did a great job with a shitty draw even for a Deck I dislike, I’ll generally stay to get K.O’d. If it’s Branded remake Mirrorjade, put bodies on field from fusing my crap away via Monkey Flipping BiR or Super Poly under Branded Lost? Never giving them a last Battle Phase, because it’s possible not allowing them that big attack will keep their score sub-5,000, so no big gem payday. Same with Purrely and Mikanko. Purrely I just scoop before there can be a game, and Mikanko I bail if I don’t have an out. Scooping as a mark of contempt for your opponent’s cheese is a time-honored tradition in Yugioh, after all. Sportsmanship, I don’t see no steenking sportsmanship round here.

In theory HERO should be one of the coolest anime themes and it is in the show but because it's spread out into like 4 hero archetypes the end result is a boring ass combo pile deck that floodgates you going first or otk's you going second.

It's somewhat overrated and I don't like its playstyle being dependent on monsters with floodgate-like effects like Plasma and Dark Law, especially when going First. Never liked the GX series either but I did enjoy Edo Phoenix's character in the anime and his purpose on getting his father's cards so there's that I guess.

I went from DLvl-6 to DLvl-14 and other than 2 Lab + 1 Ninja, I saw absolutely nothing but a mountain of Purrely, a vast swamp of Runick-Variants, bunch of Kash, and a sprinkling of Mikanko. Yeah, I couldn’t stand keeping up with the DC this time. Purrely, Kash, Mikanko, and Runick-Variants are some of the most not-fun Decks to play against. It’s bad enough in Ranked, but the DC is nothing but a Sweaty Tryhard Convention. That was bearable in the past, but I literally ran into five Purrely, two Kash, and when my eighth game turned out to be Mikanko, I just turned MD off. Plz understand, I DO know how to beat Purrely. There’s just nothing fun about banish the My Friend w/ Cosmic, Tribute the Spin-Tower, and try to OTK before they draw the 1 card necessary to rebuild it all.

Hero is the most balanced Floodgates out there. The anit-spell is a 0/0 that is an easy link 1 The skill drain / relinquished is a 1900/ 600 The macro / hand rip is 2400/1600 It’s a fusion combo deck that is (sad to say for me at least) easily destroyed by having Droll and or Nib or just having 2 more more negates. Can’t play through shifter or bystals, hard hard looses to ibly lock, and looses to the fact most of its cards are just anime fan service.

1. A lot of heroes set up their board in defense so you can't crash dark angel and not many decks are going to play linkuriboh just to out the hero deck they only face 1 in 50 games. Extra deck space is tight these days. 2. This is probably the easiest to out and prob wouldn't be a problem except it always comes paired with a dpe. 3. 2400 isn't massive but is still annoying to deal with when all your cards are getting banished so you're losing resources and if you search you'll get a card ripped out of your hand Overall you're right in saying that the hero floodgates are more fair than other traditional floodgates, but usually you're dealing with 2 floodgates and a dpe which does feel unfair as you're locked out of spells AND getting your cards banished AND dealing with a non target destruction
