I am gonna throw this out as a regular comment too, Devoid doesnt change a cards Color Identity for the purposes of deck building, it only effects the card when searching a deck, targeting it, or searching it with a field effecting spell (I.E. Destroy all multi colored permanents). Devoid does not define a color identity, Ulalek is still WUBRG. For Devoid to make the card not WUBRG it would have to say "This card's color identity is colorless" because in the rules for defining color identity clearly puts Mana symbols as the main source of color identity and if Ulalek was really colorless Azlask cant be in the deck.

The zhulodok proxy idea is great but a better (albeit more time consuming) way is to print out a picture of the card in aprox. the same dimentions as a magic card and just put it on top of a land in a sleeve.

One thing I admittedly got wrong while trying to build this deck was putting in cards like Mox Amber. Unfortunately both of the Eldrazi commanders are technically colorless. Lol. Just gotta plan around it more! Hahaha

9:00 ulalek has devoid and therefore is not 5 colors. so bloomtender and faeburrow elder won't tap for 5 mana

That isn't hour Devoid works, it doesn't define the color identity it defines the card itself when on the stack or battlefield, Ulalek is still WUBRG and can't be put into a Herigast deck but cards like Fatal push can go into an Ulalek deck because of how color Identity works.

So if we take layering into account, if you had leyline of the guildpact on the board it would essentially override devoid allowing for these to work, but your permanents become affected by effects that affect color such as all is dust.

You could override this again by playing mycosynth lattice afterwards, or you could simply remove it if needed.
