When you lead a King at trick 1 in a suit contract this implies the queen. Shouldn't your partner overtake with the Ace if they have it? If that is correct then if the king wins, it shows the Ace to be with RHO.

Sometimes it would be right to overtake with the ace, but not always. If you have a doubleton Ax - then you would normally overtake, but otherwise you might want to give an attitude signal or even a suit preference signal - take a look at kzbin.info/www/bejne/foi8dahtdq5ojbM
