DECLINE OF THE YUAN DYNASTY - DISASTERS, REBELLIONS AND COUPS

As the Yuan dynasty reaches the second half of its span, the empire begins an irreversible decline. The factional struggle between the Confucian faction and the Mongol traditionalists culminates into the assassination of emperor Shadbal, Gegeen Khan, in the Nanpo coup. His successor, Yesün Temür, must face the rise of natural disasters and popular revolts, and leaves the Yuan dynasty in a pitiful state by the time of his premature death. Although his 6-year-old son Arigibagh succeeds him, general El Temür instates a coup, enthroning his puppet Tugh Temur and overthrowing the child emperor in the costly war of the two capitals.

I really admire your work. The perfect pronunciation in every language, and mainly a focus on a narrative line that makes historical sense, is engaging for the viewer and also making space for secondary information that focuses on remarkable or moving stories and people (Philo Norton McGiffin comes to mind). It seems Shidebala was born in the right place but at the wrong time, it's a shame his reign was cut short when he showed such promise. The Mongol Elite seems to have been the main obstacle to the Great Yuan, with their immense stubbornness and attempts to subvert the Han Chinese officials. While I can understand the fear of having your culture diluted and potentially erased through assimilation, as was the concern the Manchus would later face, I feel the Mongols stubborn resistance to sinicization (specifically the higher-ups) doomed the dynasty to failure. Traditional Mongol culture was simply incapable of ruling over a large sedentary population, especially an old and influential one like China. I wonder why they didn't take a page out of the book of previous nomadic dynasties, like the Great Liao, as from what I understand they had a fairly decent time ruling Northern China and the steppes at the same time.

On the one hand I agree with your assessment of these video's unbiased and high quality account of non-Chiness dynasties, but on the other hand this is a Mongolian culture , writing system and legacy is being revised and under serious threat by the Han-based central authority (a harsh assmiliation policy that began with the culture revolution and can be clearly seen in the Wolf Totem as well as other accounts) since it's a so called potential separatist threat ( despite the fact that doesn't pose any political threat ). Hate being that guy as a Chinese teacher and historian, making the Yuan dynasty a topical issues facing the PRC and its various ethnic groups is not only intriguing, but important to make this history relevant to contemporary generations. I don't know what your definition of anti China actually is, but I don't think making this amazing dynasty and its history is anti China , but it is politically sensitive to the government the CPC currently facing a major political crisis right now. In conclusion, I agree with you about the importance of unbiased accounts of Our Chinese history and non-Han cultures and their histories, separate from China and The republic of China today, but I disagree with you regarding so called anti China rhetoric, because it's important to make this history relevant to future generations and current one is quite important and necessary, in order to alert people around the world about cultural assmiliation policy of the CPC against teaching the Mongol language and culture instead of dismissing their concerns as a political threat. Thats my historical and educational position , please be fair in your response if you want me to take your comment seriously

I think that Yesün didn't kill the conspirators necessarily because he was covering his tracks, it could be about tradition. Love your work. I must say Yuan Dynasty was a travesty. It was a dark time in the Chinese history as the Barbaric tribes United and through sheer force took over China.
