TWO COURSES TO CHOOSE FROM:
Take Your House Back Course with Dana, Cas & I: www.takeyourhouseback.com/
Declutter in 15 Minutes a Day Course: cli.re/Course
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO COURSES:
Take Your House Back is hosted with three of us, myself, Dana from a Slob Comes Cleans and Cas from Clutterbug. We talk big picture about how to declutter and focus a lot of attention on working through obstacles, sentimental items and other hang ups. This course is FUN and the ideas are specific to those who haven't been successful in the past.
In the Declutter Your Home in 15 Minutes a Day course we go through the workbook, breaking down specific areas of your home in detail to be able to declutter faster and with more confidence. If you want to know specifics, this course is for you.
Honestly, if you want to make HUGE progress in your home this year, I think it is a very wise investment to take both courses, they'll each support you and your journey in different ways!

I have done really good this week at decluttering the harder things. I sold an HO train set, 10 dozen canning jars, a laundry sorter, and a bird cage this week! I also donated 10 5-gallon buckets of food, to people in my city who are food insecure. My bedroom is almost reclaimed. Yay!

My almost 11 year old daughter watched this video with me and now she wants to keep watching! She said you are very interesting! And she loves decluttering. My kids all spent a few hours yesterday getting rid of stuffed animals and toys they no longer wanted with no prompting from me. This is the second time they've done this! I feel like years of guiding their declutters is starting to pay off! They're 10,8 and 6. I'm so excited to share your channel with my daughter! Thank you for the inspiration 😊

@@nessaIX09 I started probably around 4 or 5 just talking with them about why we need to get rid of toys they don't play with anymore, and how we can donate things they are no longer using and other kids can get joy out of them. And I've also made it a point after decluttering to help them notice how good it feels to be in a tidy space, how much more relaxing their rooms are without as much clutter, and how much easier it is to pick up and take care of their things when there's not as much to dig through. We've also always talked about how if we have too many things that we can't properly care for our things, we need to part with the things that get in the way of that. I also try to relax about what they do keep, and if they are taking care of things and keeping rooms tidy for the most part, I'm not too particular about thr aesthetic of the room, and try to let them keep their things where they like them to be. It's overwhelming at times, especially when they help,, but it will pay off one day! I'm sure I'm just starting to see the results.

@@cindyfischbach4675 Totally understand- I've decluttered a lot, and I'm still in the same HABIT of being quite an untidy person. I don't know if it is laziness, depression, or just a general lack of awareness to my environment. Dawn definitely gets you to focus on the awareness factor, and finds fun ways to declutter. Even after I've decluttered, I still feel I want to do more or stack items for later. Realistically, using the trash bag therapy technique that her friend/minimalist mentor 'colleague' uses, would be much more beneficial to me. What is stopping you from isolating your passport and laptop, and just purging everything else? Outside of furniture.

Now I want to tackle a bathroom and use an organizing bin. lol I never realized how much of the decluttering process is not just getting rid of things that clearly add no value, but also keeping things until more confident I want to get rid of them. Having that time to think makes it so much easier to let go later, because in my brain they are already half-way out the door. I’m not talking about items that we know we want to get rid of, but if not careful, may change our minds later. I’m just talking about on the fence items. That’s what’s making the decluttering process so long for me!! It also occasionally involves negotiations with my husband because he is a hoarder. lol

Hi Dawn...I'm Brenda. I just found your KZbin Channel today. I have already watched many of your videos and you have sincerely inspired and motivated me. You came into my life at the perfect time. I just wanted to thank you for sharing your life, your tips, your wonderful sense of humor, and your transparency with us in the KZbin Universe. I am watching you in Hawaii. I've shared your page on my FaceBook page because you helped me begin the process of decluttering my heart and my home. I am so incredibly grateful to God for you. God bless you and your family. Keep doing your thing! I'm watching, growing, and learning from you. Thank you kindly!

My parents and I decluttered 50 things today! It took us a few hours but we did other things in between. Thank you Dawn for being an inspiration! 😊

Girl you should be proud it was hard to come up with 50 items quickly, it truly shows how easy it is to keep up with decluttering once you've been on the journey for so long. I can't wait to be at the point you're at, truly motivating.

Dawn - I love all your videos, and this one is extra great. Anything that shows us that even folks who can help us take back our house struggle with things building up in drawers or getting disorganized is so relatable and helps me stay motivated!! And this 5 minute idea is great - getting started is often the hardest part.

Good Afternoon Dawn. You have been a big inspiration for me with posting your decluttering videos and talking about minimalism. I’ve watched your videos for the past year and this week started the decluttering journey. I’ve taken your 5 minute rule for cleaning and evening decluttering and it has made a big difference in my home. Keep doing what your doing because your videos have definitely helped me get to the point I’m sick of the amount of stuff my husband and I have in our home. Your amazing at what you do. Thank you for being an inspiration to me.

I just cleaned under my kitchen sink and in our main bathroom I was so pleased that that were still in pretty good shape just items were moved around mostly. I think I got rid of less than 10 items between both and it was things we don't use or things that were expired. I treated myself to a couple nice containers from the container store to put in the bathroom to help keep whats left organized and I absolutely LOVE looking at it now. Thanks always for the inspiration Dawn!

Impressive, Dawn!! At first I thought you were doing your whole house. I have a small cabinet behind my mirror. I keep less than 20 items there. I store my excess toilet paper in my linen cupboard outside the bathroom.

My workbook came!!! I have learned so much over the past year that I didn't know if I'd learn anything new in the workbook, but wanted to get one to support Dawn and Tom. Well, this lovely book has re-energized me and taught me how to look at and deal with the next layers of stuff that I hadn't really "noticed" yet. Learning a lot, getting things done, and having a ball. And the book is such high quality, too. Thank you so very much Dawn! Merry Christmas to you and your family!

White vinegar for natural deodorant!! Super easy, effective, and cheap! My husband and I have been beyond impressed with how long it lasts (all day) even while working outside in the heat of summer! Put it in a little dollar store spray bottle and spritz on when needed. And, no, you won’t smell like vinegar! Lol

You know what I appreciate about this video is that you have been doing minimalism for 7 years and yet you still go and buy things that may end up being needed to declutter again. I don’t know if that makes sense, but it is like you are not never going to buy anything again. Just because you minimize doesn’t mean you stop shopping. You just become more mindful of what you really need. No clue if that makes sense but the point love your channel!

Absolutely love your videos and have been motivated by you this past year to also make the move towards minimalism with my husband which has totally changed us for the better! Thanks for sharing! As a teacher, I always kindly suggest to people who may have any school supplies (e.g. paper, pens, craft items, books, etc.) can be dropped off at schools near by for any teachers or students who may be in need of items. I promise you those items will always be put to use. ;-)
