today we're decluttering my closet for spring! it's about that time for another MASSIVE CLOSET PURGE... (send help)! every few months, i like to go through my wardrobe and assess what doesn't fit anymore, what is or isn't my style anymore, what i've decided to part ways with, etc.! it's really refreshing to do the ritual of getting rid of half my clothes to make room for fun new pieces lol you should try it sometime 😂 hope you enjoy xoxoxo!

Jordan page on KZbin says to turn you hanger backwards when hanging up so this shows you which shirts you have worn and do wear and the ones you haven’t touched since your last purge!it helped me so much

Carrie get space bags! I rotate my summer / winter clothes and store them in space bags. It saves sooo much space.

Something that's worked SO well for me (also ADHD although I'm so happy after decluttering) is to quickly grab out the items I can easily let go of then come back a day or two layer when I've recharged and hold every item in front of my body in front of the mirror. I've decluttered at LEAST 50% of my wardrobe.

If you're looking for storage options, I would suggest getting cute baskets and storing out of season stuff on top of your racks.

LOL Carrie's "last nice day" in Arizona is my first nice day in Vermont. Its FINALLY spring here! I LOVE a closet clean!! I just did my winter/spring swap and am totally guilty of holding onto dresses that do not fit. Thanks for the reminder that its okay to let those pieces go

I just recently did a closet clean out and it was really refreshing. One thing that I really focused on was how I felt about the piece in my current position in life. There were a lot of pieces of clothing that I remembered I used to wear so many years ago and it made me want to get rid of them because they weren’t serving my in my current state and they could’ve been great fitting pieces, but the mental association I had to them is ultimately what made me get rid of them.

Have you considered using your dresser as partial storage for seasonal items? You seem very visual and it seems like you have the space to hang most of your things which will help you realize when it's getting out of hand for you

I don’t know if you have room under your bed but I put winter clothes in a bin and hide it under my bed. That way it’s close if I want to get something out. 💕 you might have floor room in your closet to stack em up.

I've been storing printed Tee's that mean a lot to me but I dont wear them for whatever reason to turn into a quilt when I have enough. There's businesses that can do it for those who dont sew themselves, too! Obviously not everyone has enough space to do that with though I've saved a ton of space by cutting off the front making sure to cut them all the same size so there's enough to make uniform squares later on... though different sizes would be more difficult to work, Im just now realizing that might look way cooler and be worth the effort

It would be so cool if you got someone like Sierra’s friend to help organize and purge your spaces. I know with rental that can be difficult but it would be really cool esp for folks who are also struggling w’ ADHD. dollar tree has vacuum seal bags and it shrinks clothes down so well and it’s perfect for storing off season clothes

I think you could put the winter stuff inside the drawers and make that file fold. It would help you so much. I say that because I also have ADHD and my closet was a mess until I started using some systems and some folding where I can actually see everything. Love from Brasil❤

I’m very very slowly working on my closet, drawers and intimates and there are some thoughts that I’ve had about my own stuff that I’ll mention here. I have a t shirt from high school that has a hole in one of the pits and I was thinking to cut the sleeves and make it a tank. Maybe you can do that with the Iron Maiden shirt too. I have a small year round closet and I was thinking space bags or plastic drawers for seasonal storage, however like you said, more space means more stuff, so I decided I’m not doing either. Maybe you can use the white drawers for seasonal storage? Now I’m off to purge a drawer I haven’t organized since last year. Wishing you the best!

You could try an iron on lightweight fusible interfacing on the inside of your ripped shirts to keep them together!

I don't have the space for both my summer and winter closets so I have to pack half my closet away twice a year. The worst part about bringing out my summer clothes is that most of them need to be ironed all at once. My winter clothes are mostly things that don't crease.
