I had most of the stuff put in my house. And I am still dealing with stuff. If I had 2 people to help me I could get a lot done. But It's just me even though my husband and adult son are here. They both work long hours. I am out of work now due to Covid 19 til school goes back. Your videos have motivated me a lot to do. I can now after 2 yrs sit in my living room and eat at my dining table. Thank you so much. Good luck with BABY GIRL and Congrats on a little girl. Enjoy her. Tammy

I did the same. I had a 13 year friendship with a neighbor who was getting separated and she needed help and didn't know where to start. I told her it was ok and asked her what did she want to start with and it was the garage. When we opened the door, you couldn't even walk in. We had to start from the outside. We used her trash cans and ours to get started and containers. I told her that I was going to set a timer so that we won't get overwhelmed and to pace ourselves. We started in one corner and we worked from one side and front to back and before we knew it, we had the garage cleaned out in 3 days. She was so grateful for my help and guidance and she was able to tackle each room in her house and get it ready for the remodel and cleaning crew. I was shocked when I the house on open house day. I miss her so much and we stay in touch on a weekly basis. I am not a professional organizer by any means but lived in a house that seemed never to get cleaned or organized because things would go from room to room and pile up and even though measures would be put into place it never stayed that way.

Once my emotional health improved, I was able to tackle things little by little and finally have my house become my home. It is never an immediate thing and I have to keep at it so things don't become overwhelming again. Slow and steady is my advice. As long as you stay consistent you'll make progress. So happy to see this marathon 😁 I think I started watching your vids back in 2018 as I was suffering with post natal depression for the first timr after the birth of my third little bundle of joy in the March and we decided to sell our home to get away from bad neighbours.... which wasn't helping my state of mind, which was the best decision we ever made however it made 2018 an extremely tough year. I came across yours and about 4 other cleaning/ organizing/ motherhood vids and it really helped keep me going and motivated... we moved at the start of December in 2018 and I kept you all with me during the unpacking and cleaning and organising and especially now during lockdown you are still keeping me motivated and smiling so I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I just came across your comment, and I am a HUGE organizer myself, (all my friends & family call me to come declutter & clean for them also). So just my bit of advice to your question, is you will NEVER "get" the energy to do things like this.... Just like motivation, you will never just get the motivation or energy to do things like this. BUT, my advice is JUST start, once you get started somewhere - an like it was said in this video - section areas off and work through them as you go, you'll realize once you start it's so much easier to just keep going! ☺️ I know that seems like a simple answer but it's so so true! 💞

I always find that when its someone elses mess. I can power through it like you wouldnt believe. I take longer on my own stuff. But as cambria says in most of her hoarder series, break it down. Find a spot. Work on that spot. See another spot? Attack that spot. That spot over there? Its going down. It helps when you can see the progress. Just take it as you can. Take notes from the commentary here. You got this yo. Xoxo

You are SO encouraging! You described EXACTLY how I feel, overwhelmed and don't know where to start. It's terrible! I can't find a way out of it. Even just watching you though shows me how. I have some health problems that make it impossible for me to do much at all. I can't stand up very long at all. Sitting, yes but moving all around a room would wear me out in only a few minutes. Even if I sit in one place I get fatigued just making decisions. Because of all this I move so slowly that I rarely get anything done and believe me it shows in my house! It's been so long now that everywhere I turn there's a massive amount of work that needs to be done. I know I can only do a tiny bit so I don't know where to start. It's overwhelming, truly! I SO wish you were able to come and help me!!! I need someone like you who can look at the whole situation and see what needs to be done, prioritize it,and do the small detailed tasks thoroughly until the whole is clear, clean and organized. You're a great blessing to those you help! I used to be clean and organized but my health just SO keeps me from it now. Because I am clean and organized in mind and heart,it's really bad for me to see my house like this now. I've been watching your channel for about six months. I just moved and everything just got piled up and I was not able to start cleaning it but I have taken your advice and started doing sections and it feels good to be able to walk down the hall and not fall over things. Thank you so much.

Every time i see this kind of cleaning video and separation is mentioned. I think of my friend who divorced her husband, a huge mess is sometimes is not caused by divorce but is the direct cause of divorce.

Angelika potree I wondered that too. If it’s constant it would be very hard to live with

No room for love. My house is a mess right now, that's why I'm watching, but I started with our bedroom and I could stay in there all day. Hopefully I'll be as objective on my craft area. :)

I could see that,,, but idk there could be things really contributing to the divorce other than a messy place 😕
@angelikapotree27414 жыл бұрын
@@loverboy6149 that why I wrote -sometimes. How long can you keep cleaning after your husband? When he does not appreciate you cleaning after him and is making even bigger mess - because you will clean it anyway? I wrote this comment originally because my friend was in this situation and it was the main reason for their divorce. ( she went to another country for a month due to work and when she comes back their home ... lets say her cat of more than 10 years was trapped due to mess and died because of dehydration. And she was the one who found it when she started cleaning)

so motivating. I will be helping my daughter get her house in order and this has really helped me with the overwhelming aspect of it. So much easier now that I know to sort into categories first and do the deep clean afterwards.

I have this mess plus more! Everywhere. 2 small kids, Anxiety & depression. It’s a new year so I’m really doing my best to tackle some piles of clutter! My parents just divorced & I’ve ended up with a lot of stuff from they’re house on top of mine. It’s easy to get overwhelmed, I’m gonna use some of this advice & do what I can. Really refreshing to see someone post a REAL house to clean. Wish me Luck! ❤️

Hey thank you. Normally when we see hoarding on tv shows it's at the level of such terrible pain for everyone concerned ... but straight away I saw that this level is more like where someone I love is at. This is the first time I've seen your channel. I needed something that was positive as I'm helping a loved one declutter and it's very emotional at times. Thanks from NZ.

Your so positive, encouraging, and understanding. I agree. As moms we always put the needs of our children and spouses ahead of our own. I did that for the longest. Just within the last year I have made it a priority to get a pedicure, manicure, and a trip to the salon every month. And also to not keep wearing old raggedy clothing, and respectfully tell my children when to leave my room so I can have a little alone time.

I had a lot of chaos in my younger life that got to me. With untreated/undiagnosed ADHD things were pretty chaotic. I let my stuff fall into chaos fast. I never got rid of things even if I didn't like them anymore. I had no good spaces to store them. No organization. Which led to things to accumulate into piles. It took a long time to get to where I am, and you're right about a lot. Throwing out boxes. Doing small sections at a time. Clothes needing to be an immediate yes. What you're doing is life changing. When I finally decluttered my home, I was able to declutter my life too. Things feel better now. I hope she feels far better.

Something I recommend is a high powered steamer It had cut down on cleaning time and got some nasty stuff up.

Excellent advice. Fantastic work. You must have psych degrees. Congratulations on the baby. Watched your videos I think about a year. I love your generosity and skills. I have a decent size house with 3 adult kids 2 grandkids my hubby who works shift work so does my son who is in transition to a new job at home. When everyone is working, I tackle the work. My youngest daughter helps me. Considering we are gonna be inside for the foreseeable future I have some cleaning and painting projects I am gonna tackle. We are up to date with decluterung. I do wish my kids would not take all my cups and cutlery outside. I have alot of weirdness in my life. (I hate those toilets rugs). You are so right about the bedroom. I keep up with it but my husband mentioned an odour so I deep cleaned and we figured it may have been the A.C. we took out. Hoping for a heat pump. But that extra clean felt good.

I’ve only just discovered you. I’ve been very sick for several years. During that time my husband left me because he didn’t want to be “around a sick person all the time”. My energy levels were zero and some of the time I couldn’t even get out of bed. My house became a disaster with the clutter level reaching DefCon 1. I used to be extremely organized with everything in its place and the house very clean. Now that I’m feeling better I look around my place and I don’t even know where to start. So I turned to the internet to see what sage advice I could find. Your videos have got me going. Instead of looking at the entire mess and feeling completely overwhelmed, I now pick an area and do just that area. You have some wonderful advice so I’m going to go through your videos and see what other techniques I can pick up. I’m sure I’ll learn a thing or two and hopefully I can get back to my usual organized ways sooner rather than later. My only problem is if I get down on the floor to sort things I can’t get back up again by myself. I still have to figure that out. Sigh.
