I absolutely love this series and love the relationship you and your sister have. It reminds me of me and my sister (and her basement is worse than your sister's garage... plus, we'll have to carry it up 😫). Big love to your family and everyone chipping in to get this done in TWO days! Absolutely amazing and inspiring. 💥

Can you thank you sister & nieces for being so vulnerable and opening up their home and wares to the world! 🩷 You all done so well 🙏🏽🎉 You & your family have inspired me to confront my own clutter in a non judgemental way and to process the grief/emotions that come from compulsive spending. Thank you again & give our fur nephew a big hug for being the sweetest baby 🥰✨

I felt this entire video in my soul 😢 When my mother in law passed the house the barn and the yard were just like this! It took us 4 years 4 dumpsters 2 trailer loads to the dump 2 regular garbage totes every week for an entire year! Countless things Donated ... Sold ... Put to the street for people to take and we still have things that are in our garage and shed to go through in the spring. The time.. the decisions as to where everything should go was/ is so overwhelming. I now declutter daily so my children don't have to do it when I'm gone. Having order is the best gift you can give your children when you're gone ❤

As an adult who doesn't have any sisters, I get misty eyes watching you with your sisters! How much lighter does your sister feel with everything that is leaving her garage?! I currently have a garage and three rooms filled with boxes from my parents home. When I boxed it up, I was miserable in my job and I wanted EVERYTHING! I have a new job, my work stress is minimal and now I'm able to tackle my parents belongings.

Your comment & this video reinforces my belief that hoarding is inter generational! It’s often triggered by the death of loved ones & ‘inheriting’ their belongings (aka junk) It’s hard to break the cycle 😔 A ‘legacy’ of a cluttered hoard is a heavy load to bear!

I think the more we all get away from heavy consumption the better we feel. I used to shop for wardrobe items years ago and never consistently use most of it. This is such a hard step for your family and you supporting them with this is really what is heart warming about this whole series. There’s some deeper sides to all of this consumption but this is a great step in the best direction. I am sending you all positive, clutter free vibes for the all of the years to come ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I laughed too hard when you found that ‘bag of bags’ I recently moved my mother into my home after I found her semi conscious in bed with influenza that had turned into pneumonia. While she was in hospital my daughters, son and son in laws and myself moved her out of her house in one day! To say she is a hoarder is an understatement and amongst many other items that are now in my garage waiting to be sorted was about 15 ‘bags of bags’ my daughters and I literally sat on the floor crying tears of laughter when we actually found a ‘box of bags’ as well. 😂🤣

This is amazing progress! Your sister is a hoarder for sure but it's phenomenal how far she's come. Clear ZONES are going to be crucial when it comes to organizing this garage. Definitely more decluttering to do, but once you get to organizing I'd suggest a peg board or open shelving for tools. This family will absolutely forget what's inside of those drawer units and/or never put them away after use.

About 2000 we moved from a small house to a 2BR condo. Every day, I take out trash, recycling, and find 25 things to sell or give away. I go around the place, drawer by drawer, shelf by shelf, until things are gone. My craft supplies are in plastic shoeboxes. One for each craft I do. The only thing I shop for each week is food. I'd like to be a minimalist but I have lots of hobbies and interests. Most craft supplies are given to me. Tina, Al's wife

We can all (sorta/kinda) agree the extreme hoarding in the US came after Walmart came out in the 1990's and everything was made so cheaply by China. Made well, but cheap to where we could all buy something for every holiday, and of course the TV shopping networks. Finally, that generation is now learning not to buy without thinking or end up smothered by good intentions. The next generation is tired of living in their parents' messes so they don't buy so detrimentally to affect their health. What a great group of family and friends you all are. I got up and did some decluttering while watching you do such a good job. For me it's the heirlooms and/or reminders of family I have a hard time letting go of. But they are turning into sad memories since I have no one to hand them down too. The younger gen doesn't want any of it. xx

I’m sorry for being so upfront but I’m always amazed by black women every black women I have met has been an inspiration to me to do things myself without the need to feel like I have to ask permission all the time, I grew up in the hood only Hispanics, I went to nursing school and my instructor was a beautiful black lady who empowered me with her presence and in the medical field there after I’ve met nothing but strong lady’s so I have to send out so much love, I can’t stop watching your videos 😍

Carla!! You are an Angel on earth. You can see the Love that you have for your family. I do want to encourage your sister to rethink all of those items she wanted to hold onto with one thought in mind.. when she passes away who will want/ be responsible for keeping all of those items? I know it’s not something we want to think about, but it is a part of our life cycle. The next declutter session should be with the mindset of letting go of items that won’t be of use to her children and prevent them the daunting task of cleaning up during an emotionally charged time. I was very appreciative of my my Mom doing a big cleanup and purge before succumbing to her illness. I didn’t have to struggle with grieving and deciding what to keep or get rid of. By far this is one of your best videos! Please continue to visit and bring us along on future declutter sessions for your sister. Thank you so very much for sharing. 🥰🍄

Wow. What a huge job. Really speaks to how over consumerism is doing damage not just to the world as a whole but certainly to individuals that get caught up in the marketing hype. You all did a great job. Love the music choices, very fitting.
