To those who are wondering what "Egomama" means, Egomama is a play on the English word "Ego" and the Japanese word "Wagamama" (true to oneself). When combined, it roughly translates into "as my ego pleases" or "letting my ego decide".
@joannamysluk8623 Жыл бұрын
A long time ago Rachie translated it as "Egoselfishness" and I think DECO*27's EN fanbase stuck with that.
The way I understood the video is that the girl who steps out of the door at the end has 2 sides. The blond one with the "I" card who represents her selfish side and the other one with the "U" card who only thinks about her "boyfriend". The two are frustrated because they get hurt when they are only selfish or only selfless. But then they understand that they don't have to be either selfish or selfless but that it is best that you are sometimes selfish and sometimes selfless. At the end you can also see that the boy also has two sides and most likely had a similar inner conflict. At least that's my theory ^^ hope you can understand what I mean
@くるみ-r7d10 жыл бұрын
I think your theory is really true!! I'm a Japanese speaker, and I also have imagined the way you thought.
@SegmentedOdin10 жыл бұрын
Pretty much. Your theory is about right, it's basically about how love isn't supposed to be selfish or selfless, but a combination of the two.
@watarumeril29679 жыл бұрын
Plus when the two cards were joined it said I love U. So pretty much that's your solid evidence~
@watarumeril29679 жыл бұрын
if your didn't get it, love connects both I and U, and there goes your theory

@@Veritanky YES, I ACTUALLY AGREE A LOT When I discovered Usseewa, I didn't know who Ado was. I thought it was Marina singing for a second and then I checked that it was sung by Ado.
I just wanna comment on how genius the first line is. "Ai or ai erabu yo." Until I looked up the lyrics I swore she sung "I oh I love you."

Pretty sure that it's more on Marina's singing though. Maybe Deco wanted her to sing it in a way which would make "Ai or ai erabu yo" sound like "I oh I love you".
the REAL question is: 'is it ego or taco??' //cries wonderfully//
@浦島太郎-w8s9 жыл бұрын
"EGO or TACO" means "Egotism or Altruism". The black one is "For Egotism"and the white one is "For Altruism". This song's theme is the dilemma between them of a girl.
@Clipped_Angel9 жыл бұрын
+浦島太郎 Actually it's the other way around the blond is selfish, winning the game and chooses the card with the "I" on it the black hair girl on the other hand is selfless letting the other win and choosing the "U" card
*EDIT* The author is DECO*27, yes! It is drawn by someone else So I was reading this manga called "Love Calendar", and when I got to the 4th chapter, the cover had the 2 characters from this song! In the middle was the main character girl, which is the girl you see at the ending. In the first few chapters I didn't make the connection, but when I saw the cover, I was like, "Wait I know these characters?" Anyways, I think the manga is made after this song, but I recommend it because it's really cute.

@exanya8 жыл бұрын
You didn't see him "come back" to the tree so the reader can suggest anything. You chose for it to choose the bad ending ^^;
@chickerinos2698 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but the bag was behind the tree. He would have just seen the back of Shiori's new long hair and not know who she was.
The guy and girl are deciding on their relationship and what should come first; themself or the other person. The girl goes into a strange dimension, searching for the meaning of her love. This is portrayed with two girls (the two parts of her), one saying that love is something to take, while the other arguing that love is something to give. But instead of arguing with words, they are playing poker to see who the winner will become. The long hair girl Is selfishness (I) and the short haired girl is selflessness (U) (Same thing happens for the black haired boy, but instead of girls they are boys) Eventually in the end love wins and they decide to choose both (I+U are inside a heart and thats 3;17 ).So they choose both selfishness and selflessness. Thats how I understand the story owo

Tinka Additionally I think the ones dealing the cards in the girl's world are the two characters of the boy's, and possibly paired up as an example with the oposite girls, the blonde selfish one with the black haired selfess girl and the black haired selfless one with the blonde selfish girl, but not sure if it's meant to say that such pairs of personalities would't be able to maintain a relationship or not, based on how in the second part of the song they appear separately on appropriate lines (black haired guy at 'suki ni toroketari/drowning in love' and blonde girl at 'suki wo kiratte mitari/hating love' etc)

What this means: Ego = egoistic side of the girl Mama= Wagamama, meaning caprice side of the girl symbolized by the black haired and blond haired girl, these are the 2 factors keeping the protagonist (short brown hair girl ) from opening up her heart to the guy she likes (the guy in 4:04). (btw the guy also went through the struggle with his egomama before opening up his heart) The song keep on repeating "LOVE or LOVE, LET'S CHOOSE.' I think it means choosing between love for herself or the love for the guy.
@seramoon96175 жыл бұрын
It's been roughly 7 years since I've been listening to this song and I still love its story~. The lyrics display the two sides of a relationship, both are either side that is opposite to one another. Those being selfish and being selfless. To make it really simple, one side was always taking from her partner, while the other was always giving. Either way, both are considered as a toxic relationship. However, even others may say to do one or the other (be selfish or selfless only) the one in the relationship can always choose neither only one of them. Like balancing the black and the white with gray. Hence the ending of where a card, that was located in the girl's chest pocket, was only flipped halfway, symbolizing the need of the two primary choices because you can't only be selfish or selfless. One will always need the other to control the balance of the beam of a relationship....

The next part of the line explains it: "let's make it clear." In Japanese, "ego" sounds closer to "tako" than it does in English, since in Japanese the "e" syllable is short. The similarity of the words is basically to say "let's make what we're choosing between more clear, because we're getting confused."

Ohhh, I get the interpretation! The boy and the girl in the school uniforms want to be together but something is keeping them apart. So, in the girl's head, when she goes into the gate, it's like a battle between a light and dark side (the two queens). The teddy bears are the queens themselves and it's a way of showing that they're being too hard on themselves. In the end, they come together and she finally makes up her mind to be with the boy. We only see the girl's point of view though, and that's why in the end, the gates to the boy's side showed king versions instead of queens! I was confused because I didn't know why there were random guys for 2 seconds but now I get it.
@kipmagikmail432710 жыл бұрын
The queens represent "selfishness" and "selflessness". That's why the spade queen has a "U" card and the heart queen has an "I" card.

So the girl's I faced the guy's U and the guy's I faced the girl's U. I hope you can understand more and watching this multiple times helped me recognize this

"My anaconda don't" and "cuz you know Im all about that bass,bout that bass,not treble" is probably what you mean when you say charts. And I totally agree.Japanese music,although i have no idea what they're saying,its still way better that the crap they call 'music' over in countries like the UK and US.
@zexalgirl328310 жыл бұрын
Some of the songs on the charts are that I like,but I prefer Japanese music. The music on the charts (most of it) is about butts,drinking,and complete pointlessness. However,although there's a few exceptions,Japanese is just a hell lot better.
