I love how every time he grabs her by the wrist/hand, she suddenly remembers why she fell in love, getting her emotions back, despite not having a real reason, per se. These characters are fucked up, and hurt each other a lot, but she seems to want to fix things, and he seems to want things to change too, based on his reflections of his childhood. Note the only times he's smiling are when he's looking back on those fond times.

personally i feel like the android girl was sort of like his "muse" for creativity- i mean the constant art and book motifs throughout two breaths and android girl really stood out to me. i know when i was younger i drew characters that i practically fell in love with- the scene where the boy leaves the girl behind felt like a creator who was moving on from his childhood ideas, and rekindling them again as an adult- hence the android girl turns out to be his childhood self, and only by giving back their "story" was he able to put the android girl to rest- who i think symbolizes his nostalgia for his past work (two breaths walking)

@@liben5052 that's also a really clever interpretation! That makes a lot of sense too
I think what happened here is a role reversal from Two Breaths Walking. In the earlier song, both this guy and the girl seemed to be in an institution of some sort, with no real parents. That song mentioned that his whole life was penned in the book the boy was holding, and that he learnt his words from there. A similar thing probably happened to the girl, to the point that anything they said to each other wasn't organic because they had been conditioned by other adults. He claimed to like her enough to leave this place with her, however even after they left everything he said turned into 'a weapon that hurt her'. He wanted to profess his love, but he realized the world he built up for himself after learning from what he'd been taught (his upbringing symbolized by a black book) was too suffocating. When she tried to take away the black book to make things less toxic, he ended up leaving her because he was scared to start over anew, and feared discovering he wouldn't know what anything was - what feelings were, what kind of person he actually was as well as the girl's true character. He grew up to live alone, afraid of what kind of person he might be, what was normal to expect of relationships and how to ever face the girl again. The girl is a bit of a mystery - I don't actually believe she's an android girl. Her normal eye color seems to be red, so the eyes lighting up with a PC symbol and later fading to grey seems to be symbolic. Android Girl seems to be a metaphorical way of depicting how many times the girl tried to go after the boy long after he'd given up on being with her. From the looks of it she had believed in the boy's promise that they could overcome their past together, and found his refusal to face who he had become selfish. She rejected everything she'd been brought up with and doesn't live by the book, unlike the boy - so she's like a robot with stunted understanding of everything except how much she wants the boy to let go of his fears. The repeated 'attacks' (in the song alone she ambushed him thrice) with a weapon are her using words (remember weapons = words) but she doesn't seem to be able to change anything, since her attacks never connect. Towards the end, the older boy realizes the responsibility of changing lay with him; stops his younger self from hurting the girl with his words (the weapon) and _takes_ the book back from him, the same black book and toxic upbringing that had enabled the boy to say hurtful things. Without the book, the girl's words finally reach him (seen in him finally accepting being stabbed) and the girl's 'program' stopped executing because she had finally managed to do what she had always wanted.

I need a simplified version pls. I'm so intrigued to know about your interpretation 😭

@@AfiqTV99 a tl;dr is kinda hard for a theory but okay Basically: > the guy was brought up in an orphanage of some kind with the girl, they left together > the black book symbolizing his toxic upbringing made his words turn into weapons that hurt the girl > he left her because he couldn't chose her over abandoning the book > the girl isn't actually an android > she 'attacks' or tries to talk to the boy about their relationship thrice before he finally takes the 'book' away from his younger self, and the girl doesn't have to execute her 'make my boyfriend come back to me again' program after that lol

I'm glad they had a happy ending haha (I was kinda worried the guy was actually dying or something, thanks for clearing that up!)
