Rimworld: Tar Pit Terror - Part 1: Stuck In The Middle

Everybody loves tar, and oil, and robots, and lasers, right? Well, you'd better, or else you're going to have a bad time here. Let's lurch into a tar pit biome from Alpha Animals, refine it with Rimefeller, use it to power our robots from Android Tiers, and give them the above-mentioned lasers, because there's absolutely nothing that could go wrong with that.
Rimworld itself is a sci-fi story generator and colony simulator from Ludeon Studios. Make new homes, meet new friends, turn them into hats, lose limbs to raiders, then die to a massive bug invasion!

Best explanation I can think of. I do know (because it happened to me yesterday) that raiders can open unclaimed doors. Even if you incorporated them into your security perimeter, thinking yourself smart because raiders don't attack unclaimed structures....

@@DarkMan307 I'm sure you usually just claim any structures you incorporate into your base, just because unclaimed structures wouldn't be repaired by your pawns. That makes it unlikely that you would notice animals opening doors of ruins. I do think the game prevents them from entering rooms that you haven't opened yet, otherwise random wildlife would uncover new areas for you...

The joke was originally that serieses were all going to be named "[X] Madness", but then alliteration reared its head, and Terror crept in there as an alternative... and then some other words entered, to keep the alliteration. But, that's why Madness and Terror appear a lot.

Cutting down the Amina tree has a chance to make it respawn somewhere randomly around the map. I'm not sure about the chances but there is an option to make it move without dev mode.

Haven't quite gotten through the intro yet, but just a note: I believe that the new post-1.1 Android Tiers mod includes a way to make your Androids psychically attuned. It's an upgrade you build at one of the dedicated Android crafting stations and then insert like any other upgrade through the Operations menu. EDIT: Removing floors is the *lowest* possible priority task under Construction. So floor removal only happens after your constructor has finished all other construction tasks. Also, the chirping is the sound of your Griffon. Bold choice to shoot while there's an Ostrich near your target. Those things are nasty, and have a massive Revenge Chance. One stray shot, and you've got an angry bird all up in your face.

Fairly sure that removing floors comes before smoothing stuff, but I may well be wrong (haven't played seriously since the DLC appeared) Ostriches emus altho they look similar; emus are the ostrich's nastier cousins

I believe you didn't claim all the walls and doors, which is why animals got in, raiders would also get in. The bees agro'd a lot farther away than i expected, may need to take a bit more out of "normal". Great start, looks like it will be crazy.

Yaaaaas new rimworld content! Also, can I recommend the p-music mod. Custom, royalty free music for rimworld that is completely in keeping with the original soundtrack. It's very good and honestly when you've put in as any hours into the game as I have, I now consider it an essential addition to my mod list just to give my ears something different to listen to.

Unlike drink names, the difficulty names have a purpose, they are trying use a short phrase to describe what the difficulty is like. Multiple times people complain to Tynan about the difficulty and they end up playing a much harder difficulty than they're capable of handling. Also "Losing is fun" is definitely a reference to Dwarf Fortress's motto.

Yeah, the animals can pass through your doors because you haven't claimed them yet, not that that matters with the wall and all. I recommend the mod complex jobs, it divides some tasks like contruction in more specific jobs like deconstruct, repair and construct, so an unskilled colonist can just deconstruct meanwhile a skilled colonis only build
