These vocals hit different when you realize it’s literally just Phillip Bailey and Maurice White laying all the harmonies down.

Your very interesting cat !!! I always wondered who was singing the vocals on ladies night - kool n the gang. I feel like those women were more like backup dancers type thing. It literally feels like maybe they just layer there vocals and dubbed them? Would love an answer if anybody knows.

I’ve always wondered how he got that guitar sound. They recorded the acoustic sound of a hollow body electric guitar. I’ve never heard anyone else do that!

Each track is a mini masterpiece unto itself; and a could be master class on music theory.

The strings hold so much emotion and they are so overlooked in the song how ever they are definitely there holding the melancholy feel of a time gone by, of last September.

Isolated horns, please! EWF and Chicago are the reasons I took up trumpet 50 years ago.

Hearing the vocal stems are mind-blowing to me. Hearing it in the mix is one thing, both Reese and Philip are pitch perfect.
@Marie-qv6on Жыл бұрын
they’re not pitch perfect though. but that’s why it’s memorable why it sounds so good

Wow... tight professional recording stars....vocals doubled and layered perfectly. EVERYTHING working ....the horns are just amazing...and with the powerfully tight groove of the bass and drums....this would be an ordinary recording...and let's not forget the sound engineering....❤ love this !! Gonna subscribe now

It's amazing how these posters think September was the only masterpiece made by the greatest group in history. The Elements had dozens of masterpieces. But the "colonizers" think they discovered Earth Wind & Fire. It's getting annoying to real connoisseurs.

@@luminousbulbI kinda get where he's coming from.though. I loved them from the beginning and they were really doing their best stuff then. They just kept getting better and more people got turned on to them. Shining Star is when a lot of people really jumped on board. But September is THE song that got them in the mainstream. It's always a little irritating when you knew about something way before everyone else and they think they discovered it. The amazing thing about EWF is they never watered it down.
