Never realized how much Nez's rhythm guitar work here recalls the Beatles' "She's a Woman." This is one of my favorite vocals from him. It's very evocative; Nez really paints the pictures in your mind.

Eddie, Chip and Mike make for a formidable rhythm section! Outstanding work my friend, thanks for all your efforts.👍👍

Another sadly missed opportunity in continuing to work with Chip Douglas. He plays such melodic bass that it compensates for Nez being mostly a rhythm player. Not that Rick Dey was a slouch (e.g., Auntie's Municipal Court, While I Cry).

I will stand ‘’Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn and Jones Ltd.’’ against any pop album of the time - any one. Rascals, Mamas & Papas, Lovin’ Spoonful, Raiders and those two British bands (?) and it will do just fine.

It's a fantastic album! Sometimes after having a good buzz, I put the album on and I feel I've traveled back in time to 1967. The episode "Monkees In Paris" captures the mood of this album, it's like it's recommended viewing to experience Monkeemania at its peak

Great song with a fantastic lead vocal from Mike, and the backing vocals by Mikey (and Davy) are out of the park. This continues the country rock direction that was a large part of HEADQUARTERS. Another fantastic deconstruction, thanks so much!

1) Agree with all the praise of Fast Eddie. He was the most agressive drummer on their records and really brought out the Rawk. 2) Mike's rhythm chops remind me of Sir Douglas Quintet Shes About a Mover. 3) Never knew Pete was that much of a Nashville Cat. 4) Listening to the 'Oo this am and wondering how Townshend and the boys would sound singing this...and how much dirtier Mike's rap at the end would sound with Pete's filthy innuendos.

I’ll agree on that as well! Pisces should be as heralded by the public as Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys is imo. I think if had Daydream Believer & Goin’ Down somehow been included on it, then it would have been commercially undeniable. There would be no getting around Pisces being a masterpiece. It is even without those on there really. The track list is quite diverse and yet palatable pop at the same time. The Monkees at the height of their game!

Regarding Eddie's playing, Chip said that he could do a shuffle rhythm on just the bass drum for days. The four bar drum break at the end is Chip's favorite thing Eddie did, because he said he pointed at Ed at the break and Ed just did that whole fill right off the cuff, effortlessly. The story of the composer of this song, Craig Vincent Smith, is absolutely riveting and fascinating.

I always felt they sped up the vocals a little... I made a mix where I slowed it down by 2% and Nesmith sounds more natural... But I haven't seen any documentation either way, but I think Mike sounds a bit too high pitched compared to other songs from that period
