"bassline" is very simple and weak". the bass on "Old Brown Shoe" is so much better.
@gillesserrigny63247 ай бұрын
I'm just a guitaris, l don't play bass. But, if you are an average bassist, this bass line could be simple and weak 🤔. But, when you are an artist, musician songwriter and, if you have to create your own bass line on a song of your band, (the Beatles) it's not the same thing and particularly at that time...

um..utter brilliance. vocals, (wild) guitars.. (the pick control on the staccatto parts)...pauls bass is interplanetary..especially IN the mix,,,breathtaking. It's what brought me here..was listening to the album and just started playing Bird over and over to listen to Paul's bassline.. Ringo...sitting right in the pocket where he knows what needs doing., always on the swing and rolling the measures..so brill and so modest .the combo of these boys was a gift.

@horsenamedbird6249 I've always considered this one of their best overlall compositions....exquisite harmonies, killer bass, bang-on lead guitar picks, great lyrics...just a superb but underrated classic by the Beatles.

Fantastique 👍👍👍🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶🎶❤🇨🇵

@@vincec727 It's a diss track. John is kinda famous for them. "But you don't see/get/hear me." is basically saying "you'll never approach my ability." Most of the rest of the song says "Doesn't matter how much money you make you'll still never be as good as me." If the reading material is correct, the song is written to Mick Jagger.

@@somewhereetc It is a diss track, and if you decipher some of what he says about "seven wonders" (seven levels), birds being "green" and able to sing, along with the object of his derision being content with what he has and has done, and the fact that when all falls down, John will "be 'round", it's easy to figure out who it's pointed at.

Super interesting. Seems like Paul had several ideas to play over the verses and rather than settle on a single bass line, he played each of them on successive verses. The other thing that stands out is that Paul is also a drummer and it shows; his gliding and bouncing over the incessant straight 2 and 4 of the rhythm guitar and drums is brilliant.

I got it right! The bass that is. Hearing the track kinda makes me feel better. George Martin covered a mutable of sins. I always thought I wasn't clean enough. I've been listening to alot of isolated tracks and see no one was all that clean. It's studio magic I guess. Or else why were people like George Martin, Tony Clark needed.
