Never really realized that there were strings in this song. The original mix sort of buries them. Great work with this!

One of the first four songs I fell in love with from BB&M in late '68 / early '69. I remember everything.

Davy’s mild rip, yet not so psychedelic, of “Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite”. Still a nice tune of his. I really like the brass and mallets section of this breakdown, kind of reminds me of a score section from a film or something. Superb work Septyl.

Hal didn't get his first "monster set" - with the OctaPlus toms - until later in 1968. Bill Chadwick claimed in an interview with Andrew Sandoval that he took delivery of them on the session for "You And I." Whether that's true or not, it makes this performance all the more impressive that he's using only the rack and floor tom from his original blue sparkle kit. I like the melodic push Lyle Ritz gives the rhythm with his bass work, too.

.... and bring on the Wrecking Crew. It saddens me that at this point in their existence, after being (briefly) a recording group, they took a step backwards IMO. I do wish that Chip had produced this album and recorded in the same way that PACJ had been done.
