blue screen water
it's not an ocean anymore
it's just a backdrop
now come on
la la brea bones walk west
bring your water
plant your scenery ramona
map out the dream
and make the desert grow
move out flat don't rise up
one neighborhood
kraft cheese and a cup of joe
raw fish in a burrito
game show straight to video
in the land of the setting sun
psychotherapy sci-fi religion tit pigs
bikini barbell chakra gridlock
don't think just talk
jog don't ever walk
weight loss talk radio
roll up your windows
private home securities take the streets
while the LAPD become blue machines
cop copter spotlights down
premiere klieg lights up
none of your business buildings
gonna keep you out and keep us in
there's a hope downtown
and a mission that feeds
en pocas palabras de espera un duelo
this is no place
this takes place
does your horizon burn
I have lived here my whole life
I don't need more stories of your broken midwest boulevard dreams
stars also lie down that street
you pretty little town
you sad flower in the sand
you pretty little town
give me some of you
venus and a silver moon
give me some of you

Yes! Far as I'm concerned, Help Wanted is the best post-Ritual release from any of the Jane's members.

Life.Time. Is really great. It's a relatively new release from him. I wish he would perform his solo stuff live. The other guys have really cheapened the legacy. If you guys have not read "Whores" the biography of the band, check it out. It's great.

I saw Jane's Addiction 7 times back I the 80s and early 90s. I never saw them when they brought in Flea or anybody else on bass. Eric was the coolest one in the band and it just wasn't the same without him.

reunite! i like dave's stuff, and i like eric's polar bear (hell i don't even know what he's doing now) - but deconstruction was a beautiful bookend to the chaos that was 80's and early 90's jane's. thanks for this.

One of the greatest songs about my hometown ever. I never tire of this or the entire album. One can only imagine what these tracks would have been like mixed in with the best from Porno For Pyros first album for the follow up record to Jane's' Ritual.
@chadinfinitum1411
@chadinfinitum1411 7 жыл бұрын
You think like I do. What would have been? They were the greatest live band ever. "Ritual" was a masterpiece and it was very sad to see the 1st Lollapalooza as their last hurrah. But when you really think about it, we wouldn't have the "Deconstruction" album as is. Yes, pop people will never hear it, but it's really a treasure to those that were there. It's a musician's album. L.A. Song alone has three completely different parts with no real pop refrain. It's incredible! "Porno For Pyros" has some great stuff, but it lacks the bite from Eric and Dave. It's cool, and I think it's the last great thing that Perry did, but as you inferred, it would have been nice to hear one more real JA recording.

You have no idea how long I've been looking for this video. I grew up listening to Deconstruction (among other bands) and never got to see more than a glimpse of it on Beavis And Butthead. That's exactly what makes KZbin so great. It's the archive of our lives.

Ya gotta give Navarro some serious props. For his brilliant guitar playing in Jane's Addiction. A groundbreaking band, that's for sure. Then he cleaned up his drug problem & made this w/the bass player from Jane's. There is some unbelievable shit on this CD. Now he's even doing the TV show thing, ("Inked"), like so many others. I think he's very talented, he needs to find another talented, ambitious musician and make records!

Between 1:00 and 1:30 is what could have become a really good song.. The rest of it isn't so good.. 3:25 and on is okay but that should be a different song.. The mood is just all over the place with this one. Very little cohesion between the different sections... On another note, Eric looks funny bouncing in place towards the end of the video.. Reminds me of a monkey for some odd reason.. Dave looks like David Blane.

Not so sure about that, the band agreed to break up just as they went out to start the "Ritual" tour... Navarro and Perry were also in a terribly bad place drug-wise thru that tour, and Eric and Perry weren't speaking. I have a hard time believing they worked on any music from the start of that tour on...

You know Ive got to be honest. I was truly moved as many of us were by the notion of JA reuniting. Obviously the chemistry would inevitably be transformed. Yes the results are from a different planet but this remarkable music has true moments of beauty. Hope exists and thats enough for me! You know? "Thanks guys..for trying!" ok? Play ONLY Satellite Party for 3 days perhaps? or Dave's band until you want to shoot yourself and THEN listen to 'Just Because' Hey! It IS good! Ted, just admit it!

Dave is probably using some kind of 'crunchy' overdrive FX and I suspect a lot of compression as well. I also like his guitar at the beginning and end of the song too, which I suspect is overdrive with chorus. Some really great sounds in this fantastic song :-)
