Absolutely! I love the the optimism of the change to color for the final chorus when they share the dance where the darkness is lifted. Also, the additional guitar part that Dean adds to the second and final verses where he adds the accompaniment trill riff, this extremely creative touch to an uplifting and catchy melody is what seperates the trailblazers from the copy cat brand whores. The results show why development of a band allows the artists the chance to improve their skills while mastering the art of effective song creation. STP never rest on their past accomplishments to the benefit of us fans.

This music video was directed beautifully. The teletubby things represent an unhealthy addiction that doesn't seem as bad as it is. The lighting is bright and warm which signifies the band members thinking they're happy. But when the lighting gets cold and dark, SMG shows Scott that those teletubby things are truly vile, evil, that they're not a true path to happiness and that he doesn't need them anymore. Then after, when the lighting goes back to the bright and warm, Scott is shown with Sarah dancing showing that he is truly happy with her and doesn't need the teletubbies to be happy, until she leaves him. Then the lighting goes back to the cold and dark and he relapses and caves back into his addiction as he walks away with the teletubbies hands in his.

You’re telling me. This was my first introduction to STP at 12 years old. I would go to sleep with the radio on and would wake up at night every time Sour Girl was played. STP’s No. 4 was the first rock album I ever owned. Had their poster on my wall growing up. Finally saw them in 2009 and nearly cried when they played this song. Also got to give Scott a pat on the back during Crackerman when he came out to the crowd. This band meant so much to teenage me! Still does to this day.

This song was overlooked and underrated. The first time I heard it, it was a winter day with leaden skies and I sat in my parked car and listened in a kind of trance. It's like for those few minutes, I was all alone in the world with just that song, but I would have stayed and absorbed it for much longer. It was a gloomy, but not bad, feeling. And later, when I had a copy of 'Sour Girl', I'd often play it a few times in a row to recreate that.

It's not a classic pop anthem. It's hard to understand why it even works. I've read some music theory and I've read Aristotle's Poetics; there are rules for this sort of thing, and the classic rock anthems follow these rules. Kind of like Siouxsie and the Banshees' Cities In Dust. I don't know how it works; it just does. Or Karen O's Maps.

This song was one of them, he'd be jamming out crazily and people would look over at us like, "WTF!" My brother's sense of humor was hilarious and I think of him every day. This is bigtime about opioid addiction - the artistry and the downside. It is heartbreaking to watch. RIP one of the best vocalists of that era, I am a huge fan.

We get a different Scott Weiland with every song in his physical appearance, but that powerful voice never waivered, no matter what his offstage habits were. By this period in his life, as you can plainly see, especially if you compare his presence from "Big Bang Baby", the heroin had made him gaunt, though he looks lean as if he worked at it religiously. He went through periods of sobriety & worked out when he was, then relapse, extreme weight loss causing gauntness, he became almost reptilian. Gone too soon, just 48, a father who left behind small children, a family who will gather without his presence but the memory. Rest easy, wherever it is we go when its our time. May your music forever remain, your presence on this earth, in this life, captured in the songs you sang.

Great underrated tune by them. ALbum was often overlooked. Not by views, by radio recognition. Eternity matters. Read and sincerely believe GOspel of Grace 1 corinthians 15 1-4 for salvation. Taught by our apostle in this age of Grace. Paul. NOt the 12. Read matthew 10; 5-6 confirms it. Act 9 10-16 proves the Ascended Lord Jesus, after his resuurrection, chose saul/Paul to be todays apostle. WIth the Gospel of Grace. Happy New year.

You're very lucky. I've seen some rock legends (some who are no longer with us), but I've always wanted to see STP with Scott. I was a fan from day one. And yes he should go down as one of the greatest most talented rock frontmen of all time.

I've seen them many times 11 to be exact. The best show I believe that they did was December 6th 1996 in Atlanta. I was tripping on acid it was an amazing show. I also saw them Family Values tour. Lollapalooza. The Weenie Roast in Miami in 1999 he had six months clean the day he played at pay from Park and had a mohawk there are 60,000 people there it was an amazing show I put that up there with the Atlanta show. I miss Scott dearly his lyrics really hit home with me. And the chunky like he was her get clean and relapsed get clean and relapse I relapsed on the day he died in 2015 after having three years sober it wasn't because he died it was because I wanted to get high I'm trying to get back now 4 years and 2 months I've been using everyday the fucked-up thing about it is myhabit is taken care of by my doctors due to the fact I have a very serious illness that will probably kill me I'm in a lot of pain but that's no excuse to be a junkie

Who is hearing this rhythm section??? Wow. Bass line is PERFECT. And totally badass. My daughter and I loved this from its release.. it’s her fave stp tune. Big fan of Scott, great rock voice… And a true gentleman. Very cool cat. Damn good song from each and every aspect of its arrangement. Bass is the hidden star of the composition. Without those lines it’d fall short. Instead it’s a masterpiece. An example of artists hitting on all cylinders.

Deleo’s bass AND Kretz’s drums. Most people don’t notice the versatility in his “drums” (for lack of a better phrasing). The drums definitely play a huge role in the quality of STP’s music.

Agree about the bass line. I told my mother to listen to this song, as I felt that the bass was dancing through the song. I can't find any other songs where it seems like any instrument is dancing through the song the way Deleo's bass does in this one.
