Christmas decorations are so special aren't they? I love the nostalgia and memories they bring back, and the stories attached to them. I inherited my mum's decorations a few years ago and it's just so special to bring them out each year, have a glass of port and decorate the tree. I think you need a crocheted pumpkin to go with your crocheted mittens! 🥰

I miss Woolworths so much, I grew up with that store, bought my first make up in there. Giving my age away but I’m not bothered. It just shows that you appeal to a wide range of an audience, and that’s a good thing. Best wishes.

I used to go to woolworths when I was a kid and as I got older used to go there. Had some Easter money bought an Easter egg and mum used to let us choose a Christmas decoration for the tree I chose a santa made from 2 baubles I still have that and it comes out every yr even though it is a little worn and I still love it

Woolies pick n mix on a Saturday morning, before I went to the cinema, to watch all the kids' shows in London Road in Liverpool. I've still got 1 glittery santa figure, it's the same age as me 58. It's got about 6 bits of glitter left, and santa nearly naked, but he goes on my tree every year. 😊

Mr C. , I'd love to see a neighbourhood window Christmas decoration video. I've always loved to see people's windows and imagin who lives there, just from looking at the curtains they have. Here in Spain when I walk around my neighbourhood I always look up at the building's windows, but as some of you may know all the windows have blinds and people always pull them down, even if they are in a high building and no one can see them. I'm an exception, I only pull them down in summer time for a while when the sun really hits hard. I can't stand them been down. As a cat mum of three, All my tree decorations are plastic ones or unbreakable material, just in case. Last year my mother decluttered tree ornaments and I decided to keep a really lovely vintage one. Well, the tree was only turned down once, but the bouble broke into tiny pieces. So now for any lovely ones I find another spots to be displayed, just in case. I wish I had window sills to put some lights, but another difference here is that the window sills are on the outside of the houses. My favourite Xmas films are Love actually and The Holiday, I just watched this last one last weekend.

I love the arches mine is made up of a strip of plastic bead from a door and a set of clip on candle lights fills my living room window 6foot wide I have used this for over 20 years first thing to go up last to come down merry Christmas have a lovely time

If you use a small length of green florists wire to hang your glass ornaments, you can wrap the wire around the tree branches and it will keep them safe. I put a drop of super-glue at the top to glue their little holders in place, too. You have a great collection of ornaments; I think a variety is much more interesting than having them all the same, or baubles alone.

Thought the doggy on the crown was sweet, liked the Wilko gold decoration 4 the bigger tree & plastic stars-really pretty. Sweet felt cats. Tree looked wonderful. The candles looked fab lit up. Your tree looks pretty Iwan and the candle arches were such a score! Use pipe cleaners to attach your fragile decorations with. Cut them in half for each and twist them around the branches. They won't be able to get knocked off that way and you can enjoy them. And life is about enjoying them now my friend.

I've been collecting a few new baubles every year for the past several decades so now I have a large number of them. Instead of putting them all the tree, this year I hung a fake garland/swag along the 2 exposed beams in my living room and hung several baubles on them. It looks fab. Maybe something similar, perhaps a swag along a window top, would let you display your baubles safe from the kitties? The candle arches are beautiful, I'm putting it on my list for next year. Love them.

I love the candlebridge's the one from Woolworths must be quite old and still in it's original box . They do look lovely in a window , your tree looks lovely too. Your tree is lovely! You've collected some really fun ornaments. Those fragile ones you showed could be hung on the cup hooks in the kitchen. That way the kitties wouldn't bother them. Unless they climb, of course. I love the thrift finds. We haven't had Woolworth's in the US in about 25 years. I was a little shocked when I heard you say Woolworth's. You're lucky the kitties don't try to chew up the boxes. Our sweet, naughty Holly, has a thing with paper and cardboard. We have to be careful not to leave out anything we don't want torn to shreds. I love that you picked White Christmas. It's one of my favorites. I have to watch A Christmas Story every year, too. If you haven't seen, you should check it out. It's a classic from '83, but it takes place in 1940. 😊

When you open a fake Christmas tree, the branches ends should open like a flower, you shouldn’t be able to see the stick column down the middle this helps fill the spaces, I had an all year round Christmas shop for 5 years so have done it a few times! You have a lovely tree, merry Christmas x

You look so good in your Xmas tree sweater, looks total quality👌 and ditto the jawdroppingly good Woolworths red candle bridge, what a find that rubbed up really well and when lit, transforms 😮 Also love the complex aquamarine and silver stars on the tree, but the biggest star of all is the carboot treasure, the ballerina fairy on top of the tree.
