Just make sure you don’t leave the pumpkin sitting there so long that they start to moisten and rot on the bottom and ruin your books. I have a really bad habit of leaving pumpkin sit too long and they have ruined a lot of things!

The white flower with the dark center in the photo is an anemone. The white ones you got are called cosmos.. Cosmos are super easy to grow from seed! You should definitely plant some in the spring! they come in different colors and are very cottage-y :)

MaCenna!!! I have the frame TV too. You definitely have to make your own frame for it using moulding. It really helps sell the illusion and is super easy to do.

I LOVE Maidenhair ferns, but they're so difficult to care for. I gave up on them after killing my third or forth one. Fall decor looks great! You and your mom are sooo talented!

Walmart sells lamp oil by the half gallon in their candle and scented oil section. Can also get pretty much at any store like that, Kroger, fredmeyer, QFC etc we buy the clear oil from Walmart

You mentioned mud. Did you look for a doormat? Lots of seasonal finds out there, but coir may stain your decking. Okay, some tips: Purchase mums when they're in mostly bud stage so YOU get to enjoy the blooms. When the buds "crack" you can see the color to choose. I planted a few small ones a couple weeks ago and they're already looking a bit bedraggled. I don't know WHAT the critter nightlife is like. Mums like water. To soften the porch display, you could add swaths of burlap underneath. Garden centers carry it now for wrapping shrubs for winter. That might also protect the decking when the pumpkins rot. If you have squirrels in the area, they will chew on your pumpkins. I've heard of spraying them w/ a clear finish. I also heard Mentholatum (or was it Vicks VapORub?) will deter critters. Dunk a stick in the jar, pull it out and poke the coated stick among your display. I love maidenhair fern, but they're finicky about lighting. I thought you picked a wire vine. I think that would do better w/ more sun. You could repot your plants in larger containers so they don't dry out so fast. Ooh, Snake plant (AKA mother-in-law tongue) would look great for height. Your two wreathes were GORGEOUS! I have to paint my east-facing door and have been thinking of a pumpkin color from the very faded asparagus green from a few years ago. I could make a wreath similar to yours, but would need to really pull out the blackish color your wreath has so there's contrast.

Your wreaths turned out beautiful ladies. But if I could give you some advice as a professional florist, it would be to make small bundles of mixed flowers first, then wire them together then wire them in counter clockwise slightly overlapping in the same direction to the wreath base. I hope that makes sense.

Put the pumpkins on the window sill on a platter or something so that it doesn't leave marks on all you hard work. When fall season is over save some of the pumpkin seed to plant in the spring to grow your own for next year.

Hi your roses need 8 hrs of sun light in order to bloom I know you like the pots for by your door I will recommend taking them out of the pot and putting them by the gate on each side and put the fern in the pots by the door they can do shade .. love how the house is coming along ❤❤

Wow! Your fall decorations are gorgeous. Love it all. Please be careful with the lamp oil. My mom's baby sister died when a lamp full of lamp oil overturned and spilled onto the netting in the crib setting it on fire. Maybe put a candle in the lamp? Otherwise if someone knocks the table you could be in for a disaster. There's a reason lamp oil is hard to find. I know. Debbie Downer. I just want you to be safe. You are a treasure.

Having had a serious house fire and having to move out for 4 months while they rebuilt my home, I totally agree with you. She could put a fake tealight candle in there instead of real oil. Much safer. It doesn't bear thinking about if her house went up in flames after all her hard work. I'm even scared of candles now having seen how quickly fire spreads and the damage it does.

Don't use incandescent bulbs in your picture lights! The heat will affect the painting over time. You can get an LED version of a T10 (T means the tube style, 10 is the size). If you want it to look as much like incandescent as possible, get a 2700K colour temperature. Or if you want it to be less yellow but still warm, get 3000K. I think 3000K would show off the purity of the moody colours best.

Fill kitchen or utility sink with water. Add 1/2 to 1 cup of distilled white vinegar. ... Place pumpkins in the water and wash away any dirt. Allow your pumpkins to soak for 10 minutes on each side. Rinse and dry pumpkins completely to display. Coat any scrapes or cuts with petroleum jelly.

To water the maiden hair fern, fill up a soda bottle with water & turn it upside down in the planter pot, push down firmly. The plant will soak up just the right amount of water when it needs it. Fill bottle 1x weekly.

A hint for your ferns.. for any ferns.. set your soaker hose so it waters UNDER the foliage. Pouring water down the center from above causes them to turn brown.
