It's always a great pleasure to see the progress in your enchanted world.There have been some wonderful days where I am located. I have been doing yard and garden clean up. I also started several cool weather greens indoors yesterday. My prayer is to grow as much as possible in the small footprint of this yard. I truly believe the "food" we purchase causes a lot of health concerns we suffer from. 🤔 Thank you for sharing your lovely home and gardens.

Everything looks so lovely! Watching your spring videos gives me hope as I look out my cottage windows to see a foot of snow, a frozen lake and gray skies today. @@bealtainecottage I've always had border collies, Australian shepherds and beagles. I'm now 64 and recently got a Whippet /Chihuahua mix that is 15 lbs. It's my first small dog and he's very cuddly and easy to lift and to cut his nails etc. Very different experience than with a dog over 50 lbs. Also he's not a dog that's easily trained as a herding breed but he's coming along slowly. He was dumped in the desert (Petrol Rd. Bakersfiel, Ca.) so now he has a life of luxury at the beach. Can't wait to see who shows up in your life, Colette! I see a piebald in your future!

I noticed today just how much you have cleared out the area around the vegetable garden, the cottage, barn and the old shed, over the fall and winter months. You and your son were very busy indeed, clearing and shredding, and heaping up the cleared branches and overgrowth! yer, I know n a few months....or weeks! .... it will be filled in again! The birds sound so beautiful. I enjoy seeing all the nice changes you are making. Bummer, we still have tons of snow on the ground here in Alaska. At least seeing Spring arrive in your part of the world gives me promise that it's coming here, but not until mid-April when the snow all melts. I sure love your tile floor. In an earlier vlog, you requested "likes" for those who watch. I am glad you said this. You know the mantra every KZbinr says to nudge the algorithm so their channel will appear to viewers who follow gardening or wildlife. It makes a difference. You may not feel comfortable with this kind of advertising but it is important to get your message about biodiversity out to as many gardeners and nature lovers as possible. I have gotten so many ideas from you as well as inspiration. Whether or not someone is on the "goddess" or "Celtic calendar " page when they arrive at your site, these concepts are useful in creating a context for your approach. It's an allowing rather than a production approach; a better look at living in my opinion. Thank you.

Oh, it is so magic to hear birds and see frogs and buds and green leaves...if you feel a sudden icy cold for a moment as you walk there in your garden, it is just my frozen arctic spirit paying a little visit❄, do not worry it will not stay long but just catch some little spring as it is months until we have spring here far up north...

The pergoda is quite wonderful. The table & chandelier look rustic yet elegant. I like gravel better than pavers, which must be cleaned every year to remove the slippery moss and mildew. Can’t wait to see the final results! Love your early spring!!

Even in the mildest weather here in Los Angeles, the winter dormancy of maple, myrtle, persimmon, fig and jacaranda trees all are reserving robust energy to come out with fresh leaves in spring. Take a jam jar full from a pond where it is plentiful and put it in your pond. Frogs will return to the water in which they emerged and grew. This way actually helps the environment to grow!

I woke up crying in pain this morning. Of course I know that osteoarthritis/osteopenia will gradually get worse, but what with a long, cold Winter, I am not coping with this pain. Hi Colette, Garden looks incredible bursting with life. Wow!! Beautiful outdoor eating area with all that wonderful Birdsong which will increase your appetite. for good wholesome meals. You deserve such beauty because you have earned it. Talking about wholesome food, I was guilty of being a lazy Vegan ( ethics came first} now I have cut back on processed vegan products and am really making much more of an effort to eat my required nutrients along with eating within hours of 11am to 6pm only. I feel so much healthier and when you make the effort a wholefood plant based diet just makes so much sense. Oh I received a tip to add ginger, tumeric and cinnamon to coffee, healthy and delicious.
