Hello Laetitia and Clochette!! Awh, people in your area generally don't decorate? What a shame. Perhaps you'll inspire them. I would adore looking up to your balcony and seeing a decorated tree as I walked by. I'm certainly glad you do decorate with not one, but two trees, real trees!! And the scent of real real trees are heaven. So lovely, I miss having real trees. I live in an apt where, the 'no real trees' rules apply.But, just the same, you inspire me to take more care of my home, decirating etc. I'm so glad you have heirlooms to help bring your Christmas decorating to life. And the title of your grnadfather's clock is so special! Thank you for sharing all of it, and the gift ideas out of that book. Thank you Roksanna, I understand the convenience of not real trees, somtimes it's just easier but yes no reason not to decorate a nice appartment !thank you glad you apprreciate this series :) I'm sure you have similar books of good manners and correspondence you can find easily on ebay and old books shops online, I just don't know the english or american authors, but I'm sure they exist !

Your place is very beautifully decorated. The mantle clock is exquisite. Using music notes rolled up with a ribbon is an idea I will try this year at my place. May be your balcony will have a snowball effect, and next year more neighbors will decorate theirs. I love going for walks this time of the year and look at lights people have in their yards. When I first moved from Germany, I only was used to white lights and didn't like the colorful blinking lights. Now, I appreciate anyone making an effort to brighten the rainy cloudy time of the year here in Seattle. It's for us we put lights or decorations outside, but really it's for the people walking by. Oh, and I have been sending through Etsy, from a small bakery in the Midwest, delicious French macarons to friends and family for Christmas. Now its time for you to sit back with a pot of tea and enjoy all your hard work. Happy Holidays. ❤

Thank you Sabine! who knows there might eb some christmas resistants hiding here and there who will be more brave next year. I know what you mean, exactly !There is something about sharing some joy and beauty through the outside decors for others to enjoy, no matter if it's elegant, pretty or even not very good taste, at least there is an effort done to celebrate this special time, it's fun to appreciate the efforts those people have done to embellish their gardens ,their houses compared to those who do nothing as it's the case here. I decorate my tree today. I don't have a real tree, my first cats loved it too much. So I have a fake tree for about 40 years and on the bottom branches I put some things cats cannot break. I remember the little Bambi-deer you have. Everybody had them in the '60. Your balcony tree looks very nice. And maybe some people will see it, you never know. Have a very good Christmastime.

That's nice! You have adapted to your companions and at least you have a tree, I've seen some people who can't even have a fake tree because of their cats ! Ahhhh…..I can almost smell the natural pine tree. It’s all so very delightful❣️ Those gingerbread people are so sweet. 💓 All of your decorations are beautiful and most inspiring. I feel fortunate that the younger members of my family appreciate the mysterious Christmas packages I send them. They know each box will contain something uncommonly handmade and fun. QUESTION: Why do so many people decorate to the tips of the Xmas tree? The strongest part is nearest to the center of the tree. Plus, placing ornaments roughly 1/3 into the branch (from the tip) shows off the depth of the tree - creating visual layers from the center to _near_ the end. Try it - using varied sizes around and into the body of the tree. It will look great. I promise.

I think there is a big difference when you decorate a real tree or a fake tree,I don't see how I could use your technique on my real tree here, my decors are too big, I would have to distort all the branches and break them , and the strings are often too short to fo through all these branches ,I just do it that way because it's the only option possible with the shape and branches of this tree and the size weight, strings of my decors, though I have no doubt it can work on fake trees.
