Hi friends, it's been a fun week with farm tours and friends stopping by. Our friend Jenn Tavoletti visited us and brought us a beautiful loaf of sour dough bread. She's an artist in so many ways and she can be found on Instagram and she has a blog. Jenn Tavolitti design / handmade Home & Garden Decor.
Gabby and her husband Jim with their friends stopped by this weekend. We had such a fun time with them...never enough time with friends thou...right?! Gabby has her own youtube channel at The Cape on the Corner at Tweed

Brown is such a constant color in our home. And we’re surrounded by woods and fields, chock-full of brown tints and hues. It blends so well with so many colors, and serves as the perfect background for checks, or florals, and all kinds of colors. I think we often don’t notice the quiet tones of Brown, because they’re such a basic part of our world. They’re calming, peaceful, and friendly.

I am 100% with you Audrey about browns. I am absolutely drawn to brown and I think brown is a very primitive color that grounds all other colors. May bedroom is dressed in blues and browns. I'm also a Gabby viewer and we made a trip to Seville last summer because of the influence of her channel. I could take you all over our home and show off my browns, in fabrics, painted furniture, transferware, books, pottery, treen and much more. I also have a crazy quilt dated 1858 that had very deteriorated fabric pieces and I painstakingly used a whip stitch and stabilized each piece....it now graces the bottom of our bed folded so the backside shows...and guess what color the backside is? You guessed it.....BROWN. I really enjoy your videos and look forward to many more.

I’ve never thought of brown but I did years ago buy a brown platter that I love - your love shines through for the color and you have some beautiful pieces. Your table runner is gorgeous!!! What a great idea of making a pillow out of your crazy quilt- lots of possibilities also . I see stockings / hearts maybe a teddy bear or scarves like your table runner or more pillows. Fun video. I agree I love the color brown. I have a number of quilts that are done in a lot of Civil War reproduction browns. The season of winter is my favorite time of year, and wish I could have it all year round. It was also at this time last year that I purchased one of the hearts from your friend, I understand her mother is a rug hooker and she made the hearts.

As I look around my house, I don't see many old browns on fabric, mostly old blues. But I really love the look of it and wonder if it was common during that period because of the use of natural dyes such as walnuts, acorns, etc. Brown, brown brown; everywhere you look! ...except for the beautiful contrast of the blue bed! Love it.

I love browns also. I have brown bonnets and aprons and have a collection of tiny little brown homespun aprons that belonged to Jimmie Creamer. I’m a quilter and love all the different brown fabrics. 🤎🤎🤎

All my trim and doors are portobello brown. My black knobs and hinges really pop on it. Our bedroom and master bath are ivory brown. And I love the old brown stoneware jugs, crocks, and bowls. Your browns are beautiful.

Hi how beautiful the snow ❄️ looks with the animals never seen or been in snow from Australia North 🦘we only get two seasons wet and dry. Love the brown colours dont cut the quilt hang it up 🤎.

Audry ... the scenery is so beautiful! And I have always loved color but in recent years I have started realizing how pretty brown is too. I purchased 2 big quilts in recent yrs at a thrift store they both have "alot" of brown in them & thought would use on beds in the fall --- but i soon realized i like them out even when its not fall. I do watch the cape on the corner channel and enjoy it too. Love your channel - thanks for this video.

You live in the most beautiful place - it is so gorgeous. How fun that Gabby and her husband and friends came to visit. I thoroughly enjoy her videos. She certainly is so gracious to share other folks' booths and shops with us. Hoping to make a visit to Ohio one of these days and her videos have helped me make a "bucket list." I love all the browns, but most especially, I love brown transferware. It is so hard to find - actually, I love black too and that is more difficult to find (for me anyway) than the brown. What a fantastic idea to make a pillow with your crazy quilt - and how awesome that "A and S" are the initials. I want you to know how much I love your videos. I look forward to them and, I know some people may find this a little odd, but when you post a new video, I don't watch it right away. It's like I save it for a few days because I know how much I am going to love it. Does that make any sense? LOL. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and farm and sheep with all of us. Every one of your videos make me feel good. BTW, I did the leather britches right after I saw your video and I love the way they turned out. And once again, I had to make that incredible granola. Absolutely beautiful with the frost on the trees, snow, deer, sheep and the tranquility of nature…winter, my favorite season ❤. I love the browns, so cozy, warm, relaxing and my favorite color🤎🤎. It’s so easy to add a “punch of color” like the blues, etc but absolutely love the brown tones too. I think my favorite browns are old worn baskets, old textiles, wooden bowls and primitive cupboards. Our home is from 1886 and is much like yours. One of my favorite videos!

I love naturals, browns with blue or red. I use blues in summer and swap for a few red things in winter. Yes, make a pillow from the worn crazy quilt. I made four Christmas stockings from a beautiful but worn one. They are in use now for over 50 years. Started using them when my two children were little. They are now 59 and 63. I used both front and back. I've never liked things using the old on front only. You might use another part for the back of your pillow project so if you want you can use the back sometimes.

As I am watching this, I am seeing a lot of brown in my house I like the more darker colors inside my home but the outside of my home I like the more lighter colors my house is blue, white gray can’t figure it out lol
