Thank you for sharing, lovely projects 😘 To seal/varnish decoupage I use Polyvine decorators varnish or heavy duty wood varnish. Both of them can be applied to almost everything, also they are waterproof, anti uv and heavy duty wood varnish is also heat proof (good for coaster). They can also make napkins background transparent- good for decoupage napkins on dark backgrounds 😅

Here's a tip for cutting the napkin to fit inside your plate. See if you can find a round object that is just that size, that fits right into the plate. Then you can just trace around it on to the napkin, and you'll have a circle that is the right size.

I got a clear, water based, primer and sealer, Home Depo, for my walls. This works well where spray sealers are used, but cheaper! Use with a nylon brush.

It was absolutely the best move that my husband and I have made. I was born California, been to Texas, then Alaska. I lived in Vancouver, Washington, but nothing beats Idaho. Coeur d' Alene was starting to get too busy for us. So we moved out to Kellogg and love the laid back easy quiet life.

I find smoothing out with saran wrap works without tearing the napkin. I either stretch it out and lightly rub it or I crinkle it up and gently rub. Also, there is a glue specifically for napkins by Deco Art.

The candy dish is beautiful! I'd seal the back with any clear acrylic spray, glossy or matte, whichever you prefer.I've had good results with Ailene's Clear Gloss Finish Spray. The front doesn't need to be sealed. I'm from Omaha, Nebraska, BTW.

Hello, does that allow you to safely serve food in the dish? Then wash the dish without damaging it?

@@yvettejones3977 You should be able to serve food because the spray doesn't go on the front of the dish, only the back. I'm not sure about washing it, though. I don't think the spray will protect against water, so washing the outside of the dish might be a problem.

I would seal it with Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge. It needs to cure but when it does, you should be able to wash it. I suggest that you wash it by hand though.
