Enjoyed the vlog, the cold and wet weather is keeping people from venturing outside of late. Nice to see Chipperfield's Dodgems. The Ladybirds ride really has stood the test of time, my first memory of this Modern Products juvenile was when the Hamlin family i believe connected to the Jennings show family use to open at a shopping centre in Bournemouth with a Ladybird ride and a hot dog kiosk for Christmas all throughout the 1980's, i spoke with John Jennings Senior about this memory when i met him at Easter and he also remembered this. We chatted for ages about the old days between my filming the pull down at Redhill Park Bournemouth last Easter. Always enjoy the history about the places you visit, very interesting 👍

@@CoolhandLuke552 Thanks Luke. When I first started doing the longer Vlogs I did give a brief history of where I visited. It maybe something I need to do again.

Hi Laura. You'll find this mostly in Oxfordshire now but years ago it belonged to Henry Danter at his pleasure park Treasure Island at Stourport and initially Symonds Yat.

I feel this video is lacking comments, although not relevant to this fair whatsoever i wanted to share this memory with you. The shopping centre in Bournemouth i mentioned previously now demolished and rebuilt once was going to hold a Christmas funfair possibly mid 1980's it was and Jennings pulled on the car park built up never opened and pulled down and left because the local church close to the site was having none of it. I was fuming as you can imagine i very nearly had a fair right on my doorstep for Christmas, i could see the fair from my house 😮 but yes paratrooper, waltzer and dodgems all built up and pulled down without even opening, was only a youngster at the time and thought i'd dreamt it all. Again my chat with John Jennings Snr this year confirmed that it did really happen. Miserable vicar ruined it all 😠

@@CoolhandLuke552 I noticed last year how views and comments tended to drop off around now. Either people are faired out or just don't find them relevant for the time of year. It's sad for the showfolks, they've still got bills to pay .

@@funfairaudits When I was travelling with Rose's in the early 90's we had pulled in the yard by early October with the exception of the arcade and kiosk attending some events leading up to and over Christmas and New Year. Some the gaff lads went home or stayed in the yard, and many showmen took driving work or opened with various stands and markets.

I was a bit too old for Thomas The Tank Engine although my younger brother watched it. I'm sure they didn't all have the same face though 😆 Ivor the engine was my era, vague memory of Ivor always being over worked 🚂 😮💨
